The village of Skokie, Illinois

The Nazi party intended to march the village and informed the the police chief. They were protesting the $350,000 insurance bond that tried to stop them from marching. The leader said they would march in a single file line and be wearing Nazi uniforms and swastika armbands. And they would comply with the police.

Many residents said that Jewish parties would march against them and argued it would lead to uncontrollable violence, in the opinion of the mayor.

District of cook county motioned an order that the Nazi party could not march and parade swastikas until the case is settled.

The Nazi party filled for a stay, which would halt the order until the case is settled. The district court denied it.

They filed a stay to the Illinois appellate court and the Illinois Supreme court, and both also denied it.

Then finally filled a stay to the supreme court.
