Today was my last day of the 17-18 school year! I have spent the day packing up and thinking how lucky I am to be teaching amazing students at such a great school! Two years ago, God blessed me with the opportunity to come to a district that is very community-based and supportive. To top it off, my principal just informed me that I will be moving grades with my students, which makes me even happier (I had a great group this year). Although the summer break is needed and eagerly awaited, I am very excited to see what my next school year will bring!

I turned my classroom keys in on Tuesday and then spent Wednesday and Thursday at Disneyland with my daughter and her best friend to celebrate their graduation. We had a wonderful time enjoying the park and each other. Now we are planning our camping trips and beach activities for the rest of the summer. I know from experience the time moves fast and August 1st will be here before I know it, so I've also planned some time to reflect on this past school year and plan for the next. Big changes are planned for our students next year and I want to be ready!

Our 2018 graduation was awesome and 29 of our graduates also received their Associate degrees from a local Community College. I am taking a break from teaching summer school after so many years of doing so. I am hoping to travel and spend some quality time with my family.

I've been out of school for two weeks now. Last weekend I was celebrating graduations for my 21-year-old niece and my 29-year-old sister. My niece received her Bachelor's Degree from UC Merced and my sister received her Master's Degree from Cal State University San Marcos. I told them to plan a getaway trip for my graduation next year! For the rest of my summer I plan to spend quality time with my two sons, Renzzo and Zennon.
