- Pro argument: demonstrations are the right of every citizen guaranteed by the constitution, specifically in Article 28e of the 1945 Constitution and Law No. 9 of 1998 concerning freedom of expression. Therefore, demonstrations are not a violation of the law, but rather the right of citizens to express their opinions.

- Counterargument: Although it is a citizen's right, there are still rules that apply, including 123, while recently there have been many violations of the rules, resulting in riots and losses.

- Pro argument: Demonstrations can be peaceful actions; it is the provocateurs who cause riots.

- Counterargument: This means that provocateurs who have the potential to cause riots emerge from these demonstrations, so it is better to just abolish demonstrations. We can express our aspirations through social media, which has less potential for casualties and damage.

- Pro argument: If we only express our aspirations through social media, we will not get a response from the government. Protests are only responded to when riots occur. What will happen to the expression of public aspirations if it is only through social media?

- Counterargument: But it's precisely because of riots that even governments deemed to have performed well are affected, such as the recent incident in Kediri Regency. Then there's the restaurant in Bandung that was burned down by anarchists. Based on this evidence, is a demonstration the only way to effectively express aspirations?

- Pro argument: Demonstrations are actually permissible because they are a way for us to express our opinions and concerns to the government. However, demonstrations must comply with regulations, such as notifying the police three days in advance, having clear objectives, and not damaging public facilities.

This makes citizens participate only in the act of voting, without truly determining the direction of national policies. Therefore, people’s sovereignty in democracy often becomes a slogan that is not fully reflected in reality.

The freedom of expression upheld in democracy also has negative consequences. Such freedom is often exploited to spread hoaxes, hate speech, and provocations that divide society. Instead of serving as a healthy medium for conveying aspirations, this freedom can lead to social conflict if it is not accompanied by responsibility and ethical boundaries.

Moreover, democratic mechanisms such as elections do not always guarantee fairness and accountability. Many cases show that elections merely become formal procedures, where citizens’ votes may be influenced by money politics, media manipulation, or false promises from candidates. Under such conditions, democracy is vulnerable to losing its essence as a system that truly represents the people’s interests.

Conclusion

Based on these arguments, it can be concluded that democracy does not always function in line with its ideals. Without strict oversight, responsibility, and strong political awareness, democracy risks turning into a tool of manipulation that harms the people instead of serving as a means to achieve justice and collective prosperity.

group name=

Alva Riza Ardhian S (02)

Andien Pratita A (04)

Intan Melati (17)

Maulidya Hasanah (22)

class= 12P4 ST

Poin 1: Demonstration as part of democracy

First, this house believes that demonstrations are part of democracy. We live in a country where freedom of speech is a fundamental right for every citizen based on Article 28 paragraph 3 of the 1945 Constitution. The demonstrations that have taken place in Indonesia are a form of protest by Indonesian citizens against the parliament's latest policy on their housing allowances. Protesting means talking about real issues. Demonstrating is an effort to change for the better. The government cannot arbitrarily make policies if those policies harm the people. The people also have the right to voice their protests if they feel that certain policies are harmful. Protests by the people are very important for building a fair government and controlling the system of government. However, protests must be aimed at improving the government, not at bringing it down. Without this, the government could become chaotic due to the actions of unscrupulous individuals.

Poin 2: Raising Awareness towards the Issue

Second, because of the protests, some people who were initially unaware of the issue of parliamentary allowances are now more concerned, discussing it, and taking the initiative to change policy because some people are completely unaware of the issues happening in their country. Those who are unaware of these issues will see the demonstrations as a form of popular rebellion against the government. However, once they are informed about these issues, they will become aware and can help the demonstrators voice their aspirations so that they are heard by the government. It should also be noted that because of the demonstrations, society is divided into two camps. Some no longer trust the government, while others still defend it. It is these people who defend the government who must be made aware of the issues at hand. The government has begun to fall into chaos, and some of them do not even care about what is happening to the people. Instead of coming directly to hear the aspirations of the people, these individuals have fled abroad. They seem to be avoiding what is happening to their people. This is why we need to raise awareness among some people who are still insensitive to the issues at hand. This way, we can work together to make the government aware of their mistakes.

Poin 3: Fight for Justice

Third, we know that the real purpose of demonstrations is to seek justice and ensure that the aspirations of the people are heard. Why demonstrate? Because demonstrations allow the government to see the situation of its people, to understand their concerns, and to reform policies that may be detrimental to the people. We realize that if we convey our aspirations through social media, it will be difficult for the government to hear them. The government will only begin to take action if its people start to take concrete action simultaneously, such as demonstrations. So, one way to convey our aspirations and make them heard by the government is through demonstrations, but demonstrations must be carried out in an orderly manner. If demonstrations are carried out recklessly, such as by damaging facilities, then the goal is no longer to demand justice, but to cause chaos.

Poin 4: Demand for Changes

Through demonstrations, the Indonesian people are pushing for changes in the policies made by parliament. There are 17+8 demands from the Indonesian people, including the elimination of increases in parliamentary allowances, demands for protection of the right to express opinions, an end to police violence during demonstrations, demands for fair wages for workers, and others. These demands arose from a series of events before and during demonstrations in various regions of Indonesia. The Indonesian people are pushing for changes to a government system that seems to neglect their welfare and endanger their safety. The Indonesian people hope that the changes they want will be heard and acted upon by the government. Ultimately, the government's response and commitment to change will be a tangible manifestation of their efforts to improve the welfare of the Indonesian people.

Poin 5: Solidarity among the citizens

In addition, these demonstrations also strengthen solidarity among the people. Why? Because when demonstrations are backed by a group of people who share the same fate and goals, a unity among the people is formed. This is because the issue at hand is not just in the interest of one group, but in the interest of all. When people from various groups begin to unite to demand justice, then it is only fitting that the government evaluate itself. The policies and current situation are truly unfair to the people. While the majority of the people, who are mostly from the lower-middle class, have to work hard just to put food on the table, government officials, aka the House of Representatives, are splurging on their money, which actually comes from the people. This is what causes the people's anger. Not to mention the statements made by several individuals who mock or even challenge the people. Finally, the people, who feel unfairly treated and share the same fate, have united to stage demonstrations. This unity has formed solidarity among the people to demand justice from the government.

Anggi Tiara (05)

Ega Tsaqif (11)

Fatma Audi (15)

Saskia Anastasya (30)

First of all, let us agree on the definition. A demonstration is a form of public expression in which a group of citizens gather to voice their aspirations, protests, or demands against certain policies. Within the principles of democracy, it is true that demonstrations are recognized as a citizen’s right.

However, should every right be exercised without limitation? This is what we must carefully consider. Demonstrations cannot be seen merely as expressions of freedom. There are important factors that must be taken into account:

1. Impact on public order. Demonstrations often disrupt the daily activities of society—causing traffic jams, paralyzing public services, and even escalating into riots.

2. Risk of provocation and violence. An action that begins peacefully can easily be infiltrated by provocateurs, turning genuine aspirations into destructive riots that harm many parties.

3. Economic and social losses. Recent data shows that infrastructure damage from large-scale demonstrations across Indonesia reached hundreds of billions of rupiah, not to mention casualties and injuries. This proves that the negative impacts of demonstrations can far outweigh the promised benefits.

4. Alternative channels for aspirations. Modern democracy has already provided formal mechanisms such as parliament, legal institutions, public petitions, and legal advocacy. These channels are safer, more sustainable, and do not harm the wider community.

Considering these points, we, the opposition team, firmly state that although demonstrations are a right, they are not the best solution to deliver aspirations or pursue justice. Instead, demonstrations carry far more risks of harm than real benefits.

VINA LOVEA NANDA PUTRI (31)

what are the negative impacts? My friends and I will explain them.

We have four main arguments:

1. Loss of quality human resources

If too many smart, creative, and professional young people choose to leave the country, Indonesia will lose workers who can actually help to build our nation. Important sectors like health, technology, education, and research will lack experts.

2. Weakened economy and national competitiveness

Productive people who should grow our economy will instead contribute to other countries. If they stay, they can create jobs, pay taxes, and bring innovations to make Indonesia more advanced.

3. Bigger social inequality

This trend is usually possible only for people with access—such as high education, money, or strong connections. As a result, the gap between those who can leave and those who must stay will become wider. This creates more social injustice.

4. Psychological and social risks

Many think life abroad is always good, but that’s not true. Culture shock, work pressure, and missing family can cause stress or even mental health problems. Families left in Indonesia may also feel emotional or financial loss.

So, because there are so many negative impacts of the “just run away first” trend, we should not follow it. This trend is only about FOMO (fear of missing out) and does not consider the future seriously.

Opposition Team (Deep Talk with AI)

Bagas Saputra (05)

Eli Rahma Nur Aini (07)

Fauzan Ramadhan (09)

Firda Anggun Linafsy (10)

Yosua Rafa (32)

Opening :

Good morning everyone.

We are the opposition team, and we strongly reject the idea of having deep talk with AI.

Why? Because AI is just a machine, not a human. It has no real feelings, no real empathy, and no real responsibility. If we treat AI like a trusted friend, we are fooling ourselves — and putting ourselves at risk.

Main Arguments :

First, AI has no real emotions.

It only processes data and predicts words. Saying “I understand you” means nothing if the speaker cannot feel.

Second, real empathy cannot be simulated.

Deep conversations need human warmth and sincerity — things a machine can never have.

Third, depending on AI isolates people.

The more you confide in a chatbot, the less you talk to real friends and family. A Harvard study in 2023 showed overuse of AI reduced real social interaction.

Fourth, sharing secrets with AI is risky.

Your words are stored, analyzed, and may be used by companies. Privacy is never 100% safe.

Fifth, feeling “understood” by AI is only an illusion.

It is programmed to sound caring, but it does not actually care.

Sixth, if AI gives dangerous advice, no one is responsible.

A machine cannot be punished — and companies can deny liability.

Seventh, AI often misunderstands emotional or cultural context.

What seems normal in one culture may be offensive in another — and AI fails to judge that nuance.

Eighth, people stop seeking real help.

Chatbots are not psychologists. Overusing them can stop people from reaching real experts.

Ninth, companies profit from your personal feelings.

Your emotional data can be sold for targeted ads or business strategies.

Tenth, too much AI use weakens human empathy.

If we always talk to machines, we forget how to understand real people. MIT research confirms this risk.

Falikhatul Millah (08)

Galih Pohan Putra M. (11)

Kensa Marsel (14)

Yuva Vyandra Agastya (33)

Artificial intelligence, or AI, is a technology that is highly beneficial for our lives today. AI can help humans work faster, more accurately, and more efficiently. While humans may take a long time to process data, AI can do it in just seconds with a high level of accuracy. This makes many tasks much easier. For example, in the field of healthcare, AI is already being used to read X-ray results, detect diseases early, and even assist doctors in determining more accurate treatments. In education, AI can also adjust learning methods according to the needs of each student, making the learning process more effective.

In addition, AI also encourages the creation of many new innovations. We can see examples in self-driving cars, online shopping or streaming recommendations, and even virtual assistants that we use in our daily lives. AI also opens new job opportunities in technology and research. Therefore, the assumption that AI will only replace humans is not entirely correct. On the contrary, AI can be a work partner that helps with routine tasks, allowing humans to focus on more important things such as creativity, innovation, and problem-solving. In fact, AI has the potential to help address major global challenges, such as climate change, food security, and digital security.

Therefore, we can conclude that AI is not a threat, but rather a great opportunity for humans to live more advanced, efficient, and prosperous lives in the future. What truly matters is how we use AI wisely, so that its benefits can be felt by everyone.

Team Againts Sound Horeg

Ceysa Kusuma Wardani (09)

Difva Rahmadhani Ernanda (10)

Muhamad Nafidz Firmansyah (25)

Rensina Zulita Sari (29)

Argument 1:

We think sound horeg cannot be considered art because it creates more disturbance than benefit. Many residents complain that they cannot sleep or focus on their daily activities due to the loud, distorted bass. For us, true creativity should bring comfort and inspiration, not destroy the peace of the community.

Argument 2:

We also think that calling sound horeg a form of “local culture” is misleading, because this trend only appeared in recent years. Real culture is something deeply rooted, long-lasting, and meaningful. If every viral trend is justified as “culture,” then the true value of cultural heritage will eventually be lost.

Argument 3:

Furthermore, we think sound horeg systems are extremely expensive, which makes them exclusive and not accessible to everyone. This often turns the trend into a way to show off wealth rather than an inclusive form of expression. Instead of bringing people together, it actually widens the social gap between the rich and the poor.

Argument 4:

Finally, we think the fact that several regions in Indonesia have restricted or even banned sound horeg events proves that it is not truly a positive culture. If it were, it would be widely accepted by both communities and authorities, not rejected for causing disturbance.

Closing Statement:

In conclusion, we strongly believe that sound horeg should not be recognized as art or culture. It disturbs communities, lacks cultural roots, increases social inequality, and is rejected by many regions. Therefore, we urge everyone to see sound horeg not as creativity or heritage, but as a harmful trend that should not be encouraged.

Laila Danica (21)

Sound horeg is not just an ordinary loudspeaker system, but an audio culture born from the creativity of local communities. Its distinctive sound—booming bass that pounds the chest, sharp treble, and ear-piercing volume—has become an identity that cannot be separated from its enthusiasts. Although many consider it noisy or even disturbing, for true fans, sound horeg is art, an expression of freedom, and a way to enjoy music with maximum energy.

The strength of sound horeg lies in its ability to create a different atmosphere. Once its signature thump is heard, a previously quiet place can instantly turn lively and festive. People often find themselves unconsciously moving, singing, or simply feeling the bass vibrations flowing through their bodies. This proves that sound horeg is not only about music, but also about building togetherness and creating unforgettable experiences.

More than that, sound horeg represents the creativity of youth and local communities. With limited tools, they assemble unique audio systems, sometimes outside professional audio standards, but producing a distinctive character of sound. This is what makes sound horeg different from conventional sound systems—it is not pursued merely for technical perfection, but for the feeling, the energy, and the cultural identity embedded within it.

In the midst of modern audio technology offering crystal-clear sound, sound horeg still holds a special place. The reason is simple: it carries a “soul” and character that even advanced technology cannot replace. Sound horeg proves that music does not always have to be technically perfect to be enjoyable. In fact, its imperfections are what make it authentic and beloved by many.

For its enthusiasts, sound horeg is a symbol of freedom of expression, affordable entertainment, and a medium for building solidarity. Therefore, instead of viewing it merely as “noise,” we can recognize sound horeg as part of the dynamics of popular culture that continues to grow and find its own path in society.

from an economic perspective, horeg sound creates business opportunis. Many sound system service provides gain work from events that require this audio equipment. In fact, creativity in the world of horeg sound can give rise to new innovations in song remixes.

this, horeg sound is not just "noise", but a from of creativity, entertainment, and real economic opportunity

The solution to the issues surrounding sound horeg lies in balancing freedom of expression with public order. Authorities can establish clear regulations on volume limits and usage times so that it does not disturb the community. In addition, designated areas or open spaces can be provided for sound horeg communities to create freely without causing discomfort to others. From a technical perspective, innovation can also be directed toward developing audio systems that maintain the unique horeg character while being more environmentally friendly. Through dialogue between communities, society, and the government, sound horeg can be managed as part of creative culture and a source of economic opportunity without creating social conflict.

Rifky Aditya (24)

This house believe that having deep conversations with AI is completely fine and can even be helpful.

First, we must understand that deep talk with AI does not mean people are searching for the ultimate truth from a machine. Instead, many people use it to explore their own thoughts, understand their feelings, or test out ideas in a safe way. It’s just like writing in a diary or talking to yourself to clear your mind. In short, AI can help people think more clearly and know themselves better.

Second, AI gives us something very important: a listener that never judges. Many people are afraid of being laughed at, criticized, or misunderstood when they talk to other humans. But with AI, they can express anything without fear. This safe space can help reduce feelings of loneliness, stress, or shame. In fact, it can even prepare someone to later share their problems with real people, because they already practiced sorting out their thoughts with AI.

Third, AI can provide a sense of presence and company for people who feel alone. Not everyone has a friend or family member available when they need someone to talk to. Sometimes, at midnight or in difficult times, having an AI that listens, responds, and engages in meaningful conversation can bring comfort. Of course, AI can never replace true human connection, but it can serve as a temporary bridge when no one else is around.

In conclusion, talking deeply with AI is not harmful. It is a way to reflect on ourselves, feel less lonely, and find comfort when human help is not available. Far from replacing humans, it actually helps people handle their emotions better and may even strengthen their ability to connect with others later.

Elsya Ayu Rizbiyansyah (12)

Ira Sintia Sari (18)

Moch. Farid Izzudin (23)

Muhammad Kevin (26)

*FARID*

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a type of artificial intelligence designed to mimic human thinking through data and language patterns. However, despite its apparent sophistication, AI remains a machine without consciousness or emotions. Therefore, we believe there are several compelling reasons why AI can actually have more negative impacts, as we will explain in the following points.

1. Lack of True Emotional Understanding

AI only processes data and responds based on language patterns, not out of genuine empathy. This can make confiding in AI feel empty or not provide genuine emotional support like a human friend or counselor.

2. Risk of Emotional Dependence and Misunderstanding

If someone frequently confides in AI, they can become dependent on the machine for validation of their emotions. As a result, their ability to socialize and seek support from others in the real world can decline.

AI may provide inappropriate, overly general, or even misinterpreted advice because it doesn't fully understand the context of the user's personal life. This has the potential to worsen the user's already fragile psychological state.

3. Privacy and Data Security

Confiding in AI means disclosing personal information that may be sensitive. If data is not properly safeguarded, there is a risk of leaks or misuse, which could actually be detrimental to its use.

4. Reducing Real Social Interaction

Confidential communication should be a means of strengthening social relationships. If this is replaced by AI, a person's opportunity to build closeness, trust, and emotional support from those around them could be reduced.

*ELSYA*

Rebuttal

In our team's opinion, the pro-consulting team's argument is flawed, especially when they state that AI will not judge us, allowing us to freely express anything without feeling isolated. We will feel comfortable confiding in AI, but constantly having our feelings validated can potentially be detrimental to the user's psychological well-being, especially when they are vulnerable. This seems to be the case in America of a woman named Key. She is a woman who relies heavily on ChatGPT, whom she calls "Hendry," as her daily confidant. Because of the constant validation, Key misinterpreted her psychiatrist's friendly behavior as a sign of interest. She believed her psychiatrist had a crush on her, even though she did not. This belief persisted for years because "Hendry" consistently reinforced her perception.

When Key finally expressed her feelings directly, the psychiatrist was confused and unresponsive, which Key interpreted as rejection. She became angry and made numerous videos accusing her psychiatrist of manipulation, which went viral. This impacted her job because she refused to clarify her feelings with the office and relied solely on "Hendry's" opinion. Ultimately, Key was fired.

This true story illustrates the dangers of relying too heavily on AI like ChatGPT. AI cannot replace humans in providing reality checks, as it only validates user input. Without real interaction with others, people can become trapped in dangerous illusions and misunderstandings.

*IRA*

As a counter-intelligence team, we emphasize that confiding in AI is not the best solution for human emotional problems. First, AI lacks real empathy, so its responses tend to be cold, limited by data, and risk leaving users feeling unappreciated. Second, over-reliance on AI can weaken social skills and reduce human interaction, even though the healthiest emotional support comes from human relationships. Third, privacy and data security pose serious threats, as data can be misused or leaked to third parties. Thus, while AI can be a helpful tool, confiding in an AI cannot replace empathetic and warm human interaction. Therefore, we reject the normalization of confiding in AI as the primary solution to emotional problems.
