Racism should not be seen as the mere acts of a few people. Racism is a global issue. The actions of a few people may speak for many others who choose not to speak out. The problem with reducing racism to actions of a few people is that it diminishes the meaning of it. People can just shake it off and dismiss it as merely the actions of a few 'bad eggs'. Viewing racism as a small issue which only a few people part-take in completely gets rid off the whole idea of racism being a global issue and a real problem in everyday life.

The reason racism hasn’t been tackled to a degree where it is fully diminished is because of the people who are not taking the individual horrible acts of discrimination. That is because of the bigger group of people who eiether do,a, hold a secretly racist bias, or b, are not racist but chose not to act to make a change. It’s more than individual bad people, and it’s problematic to chalk it up to that

Racism is not just the acts of individual bad people it’s is much more than that it is the systematic ideology that constantly puts down people of colour and keeps the white oppressors on top. If we were just to focus on the individual things bad people do and say it is dangerous because that means that we are saying that success is the result of hard work alone, we deny the term “white privileged” and we deny that racism is supported unintentionally or intentionally by institutions and people in power.

Racism is cultural and socialized discrimination and prejudice used by whites over peoples of colour, supported by authority. To overcome racism, centuries of learned racism and even beliefs would have to be torn down. Essentially, we would have to start over, which is a problem that might not ever be solved.

It will be problematic to reduce racism to simply the bad things some people think and do because it does not serve justice to those who are constantly being affected by racism. It makes racism seem more “natural”, something that happens to everyone on a daily basis, and just normalizes it when in reality it is something more and deserves recognition; so those who are faced with this oppression can identify this ignorance and bring attention to this matter. Racism should not be let off lightly or seen as something that is normal. People of colour need the justice they deserve when they are faced with racist comments or racist acts and not have it blown off because it’s just “someone being mean to them."

“racism is a form of oppression in which one racial group dominates over the other” (from our textbooks) when racism gets reduced to individual behaviours done by only certain individuals it makes it seem as though that person is the only wrong minded person. it allows society to feel as though they are superior for not being like that certain racist character. this becomes problematic when we neglect to think about why that individual has this racist ideology. which in many cases is due to the fact that society has engrained these racist ideologies into our minds since the beginning of history.

Racism is roblematic because it becomes a habit when people are used to doing these things. Racism is something that leaves scars on people and it is historically embedded within generations and cannot be erased or forgotten that easily. When people reduce racism to just some sort of thing that they feel like they want to say then it is problematic because they are dismissing the point of hurting someone that could leave a permanent scar on society.

racism is the discrimination caused by one group of people to another, while they may believe their race is superior. It would be problematic to reduce it to only the bad things people say and do because then you are missing the big picture and refusing to recognize racism as a whole and instead just looking at the most prevalent injustices and ignoring the daily smaller ones that may occur.
