2014: On January 26 Deepmind, an AI startup in the UK was purchased by google  for 500 million dollars.

CaseCrunch is an AI startup from cambridge that predicts the outcome of court cases. The lawyers were challenged to predict the court cases as well and whichever team has a higher accuracy, wins. The AI system easily won the competition with an final tally of 86% accuracy to the lawyers 63%. This is an astounding accomplishment as well as a big concern to whether lawyers might lose their jobs. The judge of the competition, Ian Dodd, comments, “the knowledge jobs will go, the wisdom jobs will stay.”
