Harry Potter thinks he’s a normal boy with an unusual lightning shaped scar. He lives with his aunt and uncle and cousin, who tell him that his parents were killed in a car crash, however, when someone keeps on trying to send Harry letters, Harry discovers that he’s a wizard and that his parents were killed by an evil wizard Voldemort, who the wizarding world believes is dead. Harry goes to Hogwarts, a school for witches and wizards, and makes 2 friends, Ron and Hermione. Although, Hogwarts seems to be a safe haven, suspicious things are happening, Harry, Ron, and Hermione go on a magical quest building their friendship and looking for the culprit, and trying to save Hogwarts and maybe even the whole wizarding world.

In the Hunger Games which was later made into a movie, the two main characters, Katniss and Peeta have to go in an arena and fight twenty-two people from eleven other districts. Katniss’s sister, Prim gets called to the podium but Katniss’s love for her sister is the reason Katniss goes to the hunger games instead. She wanted to protect her sister,but there she meets her partner, a very talented baker,Peeta Mellark. Katniss and Peeta must act in love to keep their families safe and alive, which one of them will make it out alive?  

The novel To Kill a Mockingbird is set in Maycomb, Alabama during the time of the great depression. The story displays Jean Louise “Scout” Finch, and her struggles with growing up and her struggle defending her father (who is a lawyer) because of the comments people have on his court case defending an African American man at the time of major racial segregation. The book displays her relationship with her brother and father, and more importantly with herself.
