The book code talkers is a good book and was worth reading because it shows how brave the main character. In the book it shows he is brave many times in the book like when he was first going to boot camp he was nervous but at the same time was pretty brave . it show that he is going somewhere that he hasn't been before . During that time period that he was in boot camp he makes friends and learns a little bit of english. The best part of the book is when he asked his parents if he could be one of the 29 soldiers of his race to go to war but his parent said that he could go in the winter if the war hasn't ended yet and he calmly accepted. The best part of the book was when he got all of his hair cut off when he first walked in the dorm. I think someone should read this book because it shows the levels of braveness he goes through the book .

I think the main idea in code talkers is to be brave and strong no matter comes your way. I think that because he would not be a marine if he hadn't taken the risk to go to boot camp, or be a marine, and serve his country. And he was shorter and weaker than other people his age but he had the advantage because he could go longer without eating and could walk around with heavy equipment on his back for a long time.’
The main character in my book is a brave character because through the book he is showing the reader that he gets braver and stronger through the book because he is getting older but he isn't really getting taller which effects him trying to be part of the army. At the beginning the book starts with kii the main character saying goodbye to his family because he is leaving to go to a place he doesn't even know what he is going to do. And he won't even know people there and does not know any english. This shows that he is pretty brave to go somewhere that you don't even know and you have to speak english or else you get beat. Another reason why i think that he is a brave character is when he joined the marines. He thought about his size and thought that he was gonna be the weakest one there and he was right when they were thrown into the pool he want the only one that struggled to get out he was also the last one out the pool. The characters back story is a boy from a village that got raided by the mexicans so they could be sold as slaves. The conflict or world war 2 reveals the character by him showing that he wants to do something about the war and not just him but many other people that are the same race as him. Kii has changed throughout the books conflict by showing that he wants to be part of the war and fight with other soldiers . In my second book the main character Ada Smith. Ada is a ten year old girl with a clubfoot. Ada has been abused by her mom physically and mentally.

Character Perspective

The perspective of Kiis parents are important in the book . They impact what Kii does like when he felt like he was ready to be the first 29 men but he wasn't old enough. So he had to ask permission from his parents and they said he could go if the war wasn't over by winter. They said that because i would not want my child to go fight in a war when there is a chance that he might not come back . And when winter came he did what they said so he was allowed to go now and they were sad that he was going to go fight because they are going to miss him when he's gone . they affect the minor characters because kii wants to be involved in the war but his parents don't like that idea because he isn't the right size for his age so he wouldn't be able to keep up with the other soldiers and being in the army isn't a game they could die if they messed up.

In my book world war 2 was going on and the countries that were Germany, Italy and Japan against Soviet Union, China and the United States of America and many other countries. But while Kii was in bootcamp perl harburg was just bombed. Everyone was in shock and scared. Kiis people wanted to help the americans and fight back but the americans didn't let them help because they didn't know how to speak english . which did not please them just because they cant speak english doesn't mean they can't help.

And don't have the same kind of technology like today. My nonfiction research also helped me by seeing different perspectives from different people in both books Code Talker and The War That Saved My Life .
