A statistic to show the history that goes into soil formation: <br><br>it takes 10,000 years to form 30 - 40cm of soil. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Soil porosity is so important because the pore space in soil stores the necessary oxygen, water, organic matter and microorganisms crucial for plant germination and general soil health. Each time soil is cultivated 10% of the soil structure is destroyed, therefore lessening the pores. It is important to avoid cultivating soil when the conditions have not been suitable ie. very wet from rain or extremely dry from drought. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Soil pores are measured by the space between particles of soil. There are two types of pores, which both act differently;<br><br>macropores = greater than 30 microns in diameter<br><br>micropores = less than 30 microns in diameter <br><br>Macropores allow water to drain, provide space for oxygen and hold microorganisms. This means macropores porosity and stop soil compaction. Micropores, on the other hand, hold water in place, determining the soil's water holding capacity. </div>]]></description>
