         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Utilizing Literature</p><p>Use the book "Lies My Teacher Told Me" and gives the different perspective from all of the different cultures. Each culture sees the information from a different perspective and gives their take on it. Introduce students to the different values and opinions others will have.</p></li><li><p>Historical Figures</p><p>Have the students research the local historical figure Caesar Rodney and talk about his impact on history. Discuss the importance of sacrifice and rights.</p></li><li><p>Culture and Geography</p><p>Create lessons that show students where the countries are that the cultures represent.</p></li><li><p>Introduce literature</p><p>Find different books or tales that discuss the cultures and stories of others. Have discussions about the topics and beliefs in the stories.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <title>Culturally Responsive Teaching Methods</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Projects</p><p>Have students make poster boards detailing their family traditions and cultural heritage. Present them in front of the class and then showcase everyone's poster around the classroom.</p></li><li><p>Small Groups</p><p>Break them into groups with their peers and make sure each group is diverse. Discuss all of the traditions they celebrate and even favorite foods. Maybe even teach their classmates a few words in their native language.</p></li><li><p>Incorporate media</p><p>Find different films, books or videos that show the diversity of the students in the classroom and their culture. See if any of the students in the classroom relate to any characters in the movie or books. </p></li><li><p>Art Projects</p><p>Have students showcase their art in their own style focusing on their cultures and traditions.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <title>Fostering a Multicultural Classroom Environment</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Create a Multicultural Video</p><p>Start with a background of the area of where they are from. Show images of relatives or people from their cultural. Interview people if possible and have them talk about growing up in their cultural and share some important facts.</p></li><li><p>Classroom Party</p><p>Have the students dress in clothes that represent their culture if possible. Have them bring their favorite dish that represents them and their families. Share stories and recipes. </p></li><li><p>Multicultural Classroom Fieldtrip</p><p>Set up the classroom with different areas representing the different cultures of the students in your classroom. Have pictures and items that relate to that culture. </p></li><li><p>Guest speakers</p><p>Have guest from the community come in and talk about their heritage and traditions that represent them.  </p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Coordinate Field Trips</p><p>Find local museums, centers or historical areas that represent the different cultures. Also, can plan an event at the school that would virtually showcase many different cultures and historical sites. </p></li><li><p>Workshops</p><p>Have families from the community come together to talk about their cultures. Finding a way to connect the families and the communities together that represent the students in your classroom. </p></li><li><p>Potluck</p><p>Organize an event where families come together and bring their favorite dish from their culture. Everyone can learn about the different foods and traditions that represent each other.</p></li><li><p>Family Night</p><p>Have family reading nights focused on literature that represents the diverse community where families can share stories with one another. Families will learn about one another while also fostering a love for reading.</p></li></ol>]]></description>
