It is amazing how nerves carry sensation to our brains, and with those signals it determines the way our body functions. One example of positive reinforcement is having a job and going to work every day to receive a paycheck.
One example of negative reinforcement is a professor exempting students from the final exam if they earn an A by the end of the semester.
One example of positive punishment is a child going to time out when he puts his hand in the cookie jar.
One example of negative punishment is driving under the influence and getting a citation and arrested with a suspended license.
