One developmentally activity we could do in a classroom is have a jeaoprody type or word game where we the questions would be health and physically related and the prizes given after every answer was a healthy related snack like a graham cracker or piece of fruit. That way after you go over the answers and the importance of the answers they could snack on something healthy as well.

When serving younger children snacks and meal you have to follow so many state and national guidelines along with their parents guidelines as well. Storage, preparation and cleaning and product. All the way from serving their food on a plate with utensils such as plastic spoons, paper plates napkins. The way you was dished wash your hands is effective as well. They type of food you serve, you need a whole grain , meat, and fruit of choice. You must keep in mind the national amount of calories that are recommended and required. You also have to keep in charge of food related allergies and any other health food related issues to any child. The different type foods has to be stored at safe places where they are supposed to be stored and kept and served at certain temperatures. Refrigerated items must be kept at 40 -32 degrees. Frozen must be kept in 0 degrees and under. Hot foods like beef must 160 to be served and chicken or poultry must be served at 165 and fish must be 145 or higher to be served. Kitchen cleanliness and personal hygiene is always going to be a factor as well. You can't change diapers or do hair in the kitchen where food is being kept and served. When purchasing food don't buy anything with broken or open seals, only buy 100% juices and pasteurized milk. Its all about paying attention to detail and playing it safe because anything can make anyone sick and you must be careful at all times.

My thoughts on the guidelines is that I agree mostly with everything they state. The obesity rate is getting out of control and we are starting bad habits for children at very easy ages and could potentially ruin their growth and life. A lot of people don't take it serious and a lot of people don't realized the harm they are conducting or manufacturing just by not feeding their child the right type of and actually y monitoring what they are putting in their bodies. People should focus on getting their kids screened every year and monitor their health monthly or even bi monthly.
