It's tough work and sometimes it doesn't pay a lot, but we do it because we love it. 
 Ranching has taught me about hard work, life and death, and how to care for animals. My mom sent us to Catholic school when we were little. She wanted us to have an understanding and knowledge of God and the Bible, but we haven't been to church in years.

Oil & gas, coal and ranching are the main sources of income here. 
 Working here isn't for the weak. I usually work out on site in the coal mines. High horsepower engines are my favorite to work on and I have a great crew of guys that I work with. Cummins is a global company and I have gotten to work with mechanics who travel the world. I recently got to work with a mechanic who was from Africa. I try to go out each year and get a deer. I'm hoping to snag a nice elk someday soon too. I don't just hunt for trophies, I enjoy processing the meat and making jerky. Venison steaks are also a favorite of mine. 
When it's not hunting season, I also enjoy target shooting. My mom is former law enforcement so she instilled a love of firearms and being a good marksman.
