This week was our first week in ecology microbe, BMY4305 class. We were exposed to VM (virtual microbes) and divided into a group of five to six people per group, for the group work in class. We decided on the "Atmosphere Habitat" , group 9.
About the VM, at first, im totally lost. But, after a few explanation by Dr Wan i think i start understand a bit. What I understand about the virtual microbes, it was like a wide discussion about the microbes of a specific characteristic and it is a collaboration with both local and overseas university. I was in group 12 for VM2, specifically about the foodborne diseases.

Explained more about the task timeline, related to the video conference, Padlet (discussion), Pooplet (mind mapping) and many more. I got the code to join the open learning group with other university. Actually, i feel like there are so many things needed to be done but, at the same time, i also feel excited, because i got the chances to get a new experience and friends. So why not, right?
About the group work, for this week, we divided the work
About the class, everything were okay. There were some new words that i learned,

On the Monday, we had revision on the microbial metabolism, as preparation for test 1 and we were told that we get the chances to go to INTI college. Yeay!!.On the Wednesday, like what was planned, we went to the INTI University that was located in Nilai for a 'Antibiotic Resistance" talk. 💊
Overall, what i got from this talk is,
There are few principles of antibiotic that need to be considered in surgery, such as pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, combination therapy, and the availability of technology. I guess, the medical doctors know more than this. And, other info that i found related to us, as antibiotic the consumer, is, about the common causes of antibiotic resistance. A hooman could have antibiotic resistance when they are overuse, misuse of antibiotic, related to hospital cleanliness and also related to the use of antibiotic in food and water.

For this week, we do learned about the soil as habitat for microorganisms. Basically, it is one of the habitat that contained most abundance microorganism compared to other habitat. There are four of soil horizon (O, A, B and C), soil organic matter (about the organic component of the soil) and the physicochemical factors that affecting microbial population in soil (I don’t want to explain more haha. You know more than I do ). Most of the physicochemical factors stated in lecture were the common one, such as the light, moisture, temperature, pH, nutrients and other.
About the interactive class, the "soil" group did a short quiz to test our understanding about the topic.
