Lepold II's goal was to prove that Belgian's are capable of imperialism and enlightening others. Lepold's II was incapable of impenalizing Europe because it was already civilized, Africa on the other hand, was not. Leonard was deterimaned to imperalize due to resources, power and prospenity and the confidende from proving to the world the capability of Belgium. Leonard strives for Africa because he is aware that it is uncivil. He states, "Let us strive to get one in our turn...let us see where there are unoccuplied lands".

Prince Lepold II wanted to imperialize Africa mainly because Europe could never be extended. Reasons why Belgium wanted to imperialize Africa was because unclaimed, unexplored land has many resources and opportunities for power, and they wanted to dominate and enlighten others. In the picture it shows Belgium being the largest meaning they wanted to be first to imperialize Africa. Choosing the gold coast to start.

King Leopold II wantred to imperialize for many reasons. One being that Belgium is surrounded by the sea and other major countried, so it can not expand. Another reason being that there were a lot of things to help them, like electricity and steam. But it seems the most important reason, to him, was to show the world that Belgium is just as capable of imperialism as anyone else

During the scramble of Africa, many of the leading countries were all having their own ideas and intentions of imperialism. Prince Leopold II, of Belgium, had his priority set for colonizing new land, because historically it's proven that this should make him and Belgium more powerful and enlightening. It'll also open opportunity to advance and with with the new land it will "become the field of our operations and of our resources" Which proves to be an exploratory imperialistic idea, which should improve Belgium's economics and politics.

He wants to colonize Africa to get the resources available in those colonies. We think that the most important reason is to show Belgiums capability to the world. We think this because it states that Belgium wants to prove they are imperial people capable of dominating and enlightening others.
