Emailing List

Emailing lists are a great way to keep in contact with previous customers. By signing up for emails, customers receive information regarding new products and sales, allowing them to find more items that may interest them. These upcoming products and deals may encourage customers to purchases from the company again. For example, Goose Creek sent out emails to share their new candles with their customers. This keeps customers up to date on the newest products and increases a sense of demand (especially when products are limited edition).

In Store Cash

Some stores (like Khol's) use in store coupons that act as cash as a means to increase customer loyalty. Customers may receive this cash when they purchase in store and can use it in future visits to pay towards future purchases. This encourages them to come back and spend more money before the cash expires. It also encourages customers to purchase items that they might have decided to put back due to price. For example, if a customer wanted a shirt, they may feel more inclined to actually purchase it if they can spend Khol's cash and save money.

Some stores utilize rewards as a means to increase customer loyalty. Starbucks, for example, give stars for purchases. Overtime, these stars add up and allow the customer to get free coffee, food, merchandise, and bags of coffee. This encourages customers to come back again in order to receive more stars and points. As there are several tiers for rewards, customers may feel inclined to save their stars over time, making them spend more in order to get the number of stars they are aiming for.
