In the UAE, we have many different celebrations such as Ramadan, Eid, National Day etc. Let’s start off with Ramadan! Ramadan is a month where Muslims need to fast from dawn till dusk for 30 days. In iftaar, we usually start off by eating a date then start eating the whole meal. It’s a special month because it helps us get closer to Allah and gives us more good deeds than normal days, we even fast to feel the homeless and poor peoples hunger, and it’s a month to donate for them. Next is Eid. The purpose of Eid is because Muslims can spend some time with their family and give some money to charity or donate to poor people. Lastly, National day. It marks the day when the emirates combined together to make the UAE in December 2 1971 ~ Farah

The UAE's history can be traced back to 6,000 BC. However, the area as a union did not exist back then. The area and the surrounding region was referred to as the Arabian Peninsula. The early part of the UAE history can be traced at the Jebel Faya archaeological site, with hand-axes, as well as several kinds of scrapers, were discovered, and these basic tools resemble the tools that were used by early modern humans in East Africa, and are about 125,000 years old. This evidence is exciting, as it is the earliest evidence of modern humans found outside Africa, and supplies new findings for when modern humans left Africa, implying that modern humans might have migrated earlier than previously stated.
- Maya Louka

Not long ago, the UAE was a land of desert, inhabited by proud and resourceful Bedouin tribes, fishing villages and date farms. Abu Dhabi consisted of several hundred palm huts (Barasti) huts, a few coral buildings and the Ruler's Fort. Situated along the creek. Life today in U.A.E, bears little resemblance to that of 40 years ago. Parts of the UAE were settled as far back as the 3rd millennium BC and its early history fits the nomadic, herding and fishing pattern typical of the broader region. The Bedouin tribe was the principal building block of UAE society. Bedouins, lived in varied terrain - moving between the ocean (where pearl diving and fishing were the main forms of sustenance), the desert (moving as nomads for grazing areas for the camels and herds) and the oasis (where water sources and irrigation allowed for farming of dates and vegetables). One can still see the luxuriant date farms in Al Ain and irrigated terraced gardens in the mountain wadis (valleys).
- Aamina.

In the UAE people that lived in desserts and on mountains they mostly relied on camel milk and meat, they could also eat the meat of sheep and goats because there were many of them. Along the coasts of the UAE people would dive to get their fish so it would be fresh, people from the UAE back then would be able to hold their breaths for long amounts of time. if ur visiting someone thats from the UAE when you enter their house youre going to be greeted by coffee and dates. coffee in the UAE is made with cardamom and saffron most of the time its served in finjans which are small handless cups. people that fast in the minth of ramadan break their fasts using dates!- basmala

It deeply contributes to the UAE's economy and tourism, since it has magical views, sandy beaches, and over 18 hotels to greet tourists to Dubai's wonderful city. It also has the first ever 360° degree view in the world, at the top of the Palm Tower, with the entrance located on Nakheel Mall's rooftop. The tour is a bit like Burj Khalifa's, starting with a three-minute long cinematic experience of how the UAE came to be, then moving to a floor with a screen floor, and finally going up to the all new touristic attraction, the view, at over 240M above ground! It also has hundreds of separated villas on the fronds, the Golden Mile on the trunk along with the Shoreline apartements and many more residential buildings.

-Dana Deschamps

Ramadan is a time of year that brings friendship families together, to celebrate the month of fasting, and birth of the Quran.

But why do we fast? To get closer to god, and to remind ourselves about how fortunate we are, and to experience how less fortunate Muslims daily lives are. You might be thinking about how this can affect our health, but actually fasting can help prevent lots health problems like heart diseases, obesity, high cholesterol, wellbeing and mental health!

Some people for other religions fast just to be healthy!

Of course us muslims don’t fast for a whole month straight, instead at iftar this is the time we break our fast and eat and drink as much as we wish. Some Muslims prefer to wake up for suhoor to eat a light meal and go back to sleep, this helps some muslims fast easily. This is also is a time right before the sun starts to rise and our fasting begins.

-Hayat
