The gilded age was an age where the old ways were met with the new systems and ways. During this age, the economy grew rapidly which meant new jobs and system were created. We can compare this to today by comparing our new systems to there’s. Today, we have Tesla’s, rockets, and many more technological systems and things, we are adapting to them slowly, since we have never seen such things. Just like back then, they had to adapt slowly over the course of 30 years.

I think the division that people felt in the gilded age is still present in a lot of ways. The wealthy is very much privileged. They have more opportunities available. They are perceived as ‘better’ in society. I think this will always be the case. But in present day, the division isnt as apparent. Families who dont share the same wealth as others have a lot of programs and support systems around them that weren’t available in the time of the gilded age such as low income homes, EBT, easier access to education, etc.
-m.e.
