During my visit to Assam, I was fortunate to explore the tea plantation. Assam is one of the largest growing tea regions in all of India, and even the world. While exploring I met these two women who were working hard that day picking tea in the plantation. They told me that their baskets are weighed every-time they return the tea, and they get paid based on how much they pick. They said it is a tough job, but they have been doing it for a long time. This experience really impacted my view on my consumption. This past spring break, I ventured to one of the southern states of India's capital: Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), Kerala. Here I visited many sites, with the Poovar Backwaters featured in this photo. Poovar itself is a small village, but around it lay an intricate network of rivers, flora, fauna and a beach that are famous for their scenic view. The Backwaters are a popular boating destination for residents of Kerala, and especially Trivandrum. It's not uncommon to see other boats chugging along the rivers. I took some beautiful pictures of buildings with animal paintings on them. I like what the artist of this painting did with the colors. This photo is my mum walking down the little paths of our new compound. Our new compound was very beautiful, full of vibrant green colours and I secretly took pictures of her looking around behind. To emphasize the fresh green colours of nature, I improved the lighting and colour by giving more contrast between the objects and also decreased a bit of brightness of the sunlight so that the objects become more clear and vibrant. Something quite interesting about its capital is that on one side it is very modern, it has multiple skyscrapers, modern architecture, and luxurious buildings. The other part of the city is colonial which is called "El Casco Viejo."  This part of the city is treasured and well taken care of, such as houses being restored. One of the aspects of the "Casco" I most enjoy is the fact that there is always people around, going to have lunch with their friends or running an errand to the supermarket. Just like Cartagena in Colombia, the colonial part of the city's houses all have balconies where residents will go on to take in a moment and appreciate their city, which is what the people on the balconies are doing, as well as chat with their neighbors. Before someone decides to construct or design a house in "El Casco" they must pass their plans to a special council that'll determine if their designs are good enough to be part of the city. This is done because the composition of each of the houses is beautiful and all different from each other in the best way possible. The ranges of colors and patterns are infinite. Another aspect I love about this photograph is the colors of the house, white and turquoise with some yellow flowers add the bottom which compliments each other. We took tuctucs into markets and explored new parts of Phuket, this quickly became a routine and we took them everywhere, instead of being long car rides the tuctucs allowed the rides to become something more. In this specific photo, we were on our way to a night street market. The market was full of colors and exciting gifts we could bring back. Here was one village of Panaji in Old Goa. A boy is my younger brother, and my family visited there together. In the Old Goa, there are a lot of churches and a lot of buildings that are colorful, Portuguese, because here was the center of Indian colonies when the Portuguese ruled India. So, when my family and I arrived in this village, an open-door church welcomed us. At the Panaji, we visited "Basilica of Bom Jesus", and "Churches and Convents of Goa" (they are part of old Goa heritage place), Immaculate Conception Church, and a small cafe. At the Churches and Convents of Goa, my father and I also visited a museum there, and there, were lots of drawings of the Portuguese army or royals, also, the cafe was an old house but the owner remodeled and built it as a cafe. The owner said the original building was been at least 100 years. I like this picture because it had water fountains that reflect the warm and reddish light coming from the stores. This photo looks stable because the leading lines are horizontally straight and are divided into three parts: the fountain, stores, and the building. I went to this place for dinner with my mother and sister and we immediately liked the place as we entered. I enjoyed strolling around inside a book store, stationery shop, and an apple store. There was a lot to look around. It was so cool there because the building looked a little old but inside our guide shows us all these machines and the people working there. It had an incredible tea smell inside, later we even got to taste some different types of tea. The toned colors of  both buildings (white on the left, yellow beige on the right) contrasts with the relatively strongly saturated colors of the 'store signboards' (green on the left and red on the right), which creates a harmonious mood. I positioned the two buildings as such to not only utilize rule of third but to also emphasize the middle part where we can see the long piece of cloud. There is also leading lines on the street, buildings, and the columns of the buildings. I also adjusted the shutter to capture the busy people walking in order to portray movement. Moreover, I adjusted the colors and sharpness with photoshop. When we went inside the store, it was even more clothes and colors together with a husband and wife owning it who were super nice to us, let us take our time and enjoy. We eventually bought two shirts, one dress, and four pairs of sandals that the couple was so happy about. I love how the picture is so colorful and gave such a great light.
