Televisions are easier to share than computers because the screen is larger so it can be watched by a family or a group. Television is also cheaper than the internet and can send its signal much more easier than wifi. Small poor villages in Ghana can gather around a shared TV and watch the World Cup as it happens without worrying about lag or buffering -- like with the internet.

Television is not regulated enough.

While TV is regulated more than the internet, there is still a lot of violence on TV and that is not healthy for children to see. Parents trust TV to entertain their children but parent's must still monitor what their children view or the children imitate the violence that the see or have bad dreams because of the violence.

Television can serve as a baby-sitter.

If a parent or guardian needs to leave a child alone for a short amount of time, unlike the internet, TV is more strictly regulated and censored so they can lock a TV to a certain channel and let the kid watch the TV while the parent is away

TV is bad for family communication.

Before smartphones distracted family members, there was TV. It used to be traditional for families to talk to one another during dinner time but now it very common for families to watch TV together and now people know less about their loved ones. Because it became so common to do this with TV, now people are being distracted by smartphones and other gadgets.
