It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career so far.  Initially I was apprehensive as the prison is such a unique environment, however the training and support offered put my mind at rest very quickly.
The learning opportunities have been exceptional with support to develop knowledge and understanding with further training encouraged.

Within the prisons the learning opportunities and challenges are an everyday occurrence and you never know what your shift is going to involve, which makes my job more exciting.

I was liberated for 12 years but there is no other place that can give you such a varied day, working with so many different colleagues, partners and patients. Our patients are from all walks of life and age range 16-86+. Every day is different but most of all, we are a truly multi disciplinary team, who work together, we are a happy, innovative, creative and very resilient bunch. I have worked as Practitioner nurse, Sexual Health/BBV nurse, managerial roles and now Service Manager.
