This exam means a lot to me because this was my "make it or break it" exam. I had to get a 4.0 in my final exam to get a 4.0 in my final grade, no less. Of course, the pressure was too much I had to vomit before taking my exam. However, I know how hard I prepared for it, and I know that no matter what score I get, I wouldn't regret because there's nothing left for me to give, which is why I was very delighted to see that I even went past the score. This exam humbled me and made me realize that I can do anything as long as I set my mind to it. Whenever I have a hard time, I always look back to this achievement and remind myself that I have gotten so far from where I started and I should be proud of myself. This is the defining moment of my SOE life, and this is the experience that made me stay in SOE. Every time I encounter obstacles in my major subjects, I look back at this moment to remind me that I am worthy and that I've come so far.

Meg and Miguel have been my group mates since our freshman year, and I don't know how I would survive without them, especially Meg. Meg pretty much is my college best friend. We keep each other in check, and we are there for each other in good times and in bad. She's been my partner for every group work and it's surprising how we complement each other. She's excellent with words while I work my way around data and numbers. We are now facing our greatest battle in our SOE journey - thesis - and I know that we can conquer this successfully, together.

Ever since I was a child, I have been insecure of my body. My mom thought that I was just being drowned in social media. So, in college, I promised myself to join a sports organization. Luckily, La Salle Multisport was around at that time, and they were open to newbies. Thankfully, they held joint swimming sessions - so I started with that. Eventually, I ventured into running and promised myself to stay consistent. Come January, they were inviting us to join a competition just to experience the thrill of being in one. At first, I just joined for fun. But as time drew near, I saw myself training competitively since I wanted to give it my all. Luckily, the competition pushed through (as it was a few days before the pandemic lockdown), and I placed first. This win motivated me to even do better and train harder to stay healthy. Sadly, the pandemic forced us to train indoors, but I was able to continue exercising because of the high I felt from the competition. Finding a hobby I have been pursuing for more than two years now is definitely one of the blessings I've received in college.

The worst thing happened to me when I was a frosh. I got a 0.0 in my midterm paper because I unknowingly forgot to cite my graph. Even if it was not an accidental mistake, it cost me 12.5% of my grade. I remember being devastated for 2 more weeks and I just had no will to do anything. However, this mistake reminded me how lucky I was since our professor was still lenient in that case. I just thought that it may have happened for a reason, for me not to do the same mistake later on which may even cost me something bigger.

When I was still a freshman, my seniors told me that it was so hard to please Dr. Austria. But, you know, it's never bad to dream big right? So, every term, my friend and I would have this goal of getting a 4.0 in her term paper. As they say, shoot for the moon and land among the stars. In our first term paper, we only got a grade of 3.5. But, we kind of knew how to improve our paper and so planned to improve on this in our next papers. In our second term paper, we still got a grade of 3.5. On our last paper, we gave it our all and did not cram and really thought of every single thing we put - and finally got the affirmation we never knew we'd hear from Dr. Austria. I know that grades don't matter, but it's definitely something to be proud of since we were able to maximize everything we've learned.

Ever since my freshman year, there was always this one subject that wouldn't cooperate. So, when I got to my majors year - I knew it was already more impossible, so I let go of that dream already. Much to my surprise, I was able to perform well in my last wave of eco majors - even when I had 4 major subjects. I don't know how - maybe I was just interested in the subjects I had. One thing's for sure - I continued doing my best in everything, and it will always be the one thing that will make me proud in my college years. Nevermind the grades, I know that I picked up a lot of skills along the way that contributed to this outcome.

I was a BMS Junior Officer, and one of their activities to pass the phases was to accomplish the pre-activity documents. It was very tiring and it really tested one of my values - grit - since one small mistake (such as an extra space or a short dash) cost us to revise and reprint our materials all over again. I remember finishing my documents at 10pm on the third day, having cost a lot to reprint my documents and accumulating around 10,000 steps per day having to run to and from the checking station and printing shop. Above the hardships, it tested my grit and resilience and made me go back to my "why" - which made me further strengthen my commitment to perform exceptionally well in this organization that means a lot to me and my holistic growth.

One of the most liberating things I did. Going into college, I was alright with BSA, and my mom pushed me to do it. However, as time passed, the demands grew heavier and heavier that I find myself studying all day, every day, and not having time for myself anymore. I've told my mom about shifting out a few terms already, but she thought that it was just something I said out of frustration. However, I've reached my tipping point just recently, where I couldn't eat because I just feel so anxious from studying accounting and taking exams every week. I do not have the time and drive to do the things that make me happy. That's when I knew that I wanted out in this program. There is always this type of voice that also tells me to not shift out because of what people might think of me, especially since I'm in a prestigious program. However, at the end of the day, it's my mental health that gets affected and I should follow what will make me whole and happy. I finally shifted out of BSA in my third year, and I've never looked back ever since. Overall, I'm happier because I get to spend more time doing the things I love.

However, I didn't give up and continued to learn from my mistakes to improve my study habits. Finally - on my last accounting major - I was able to bear the fruits of my labor, and it will definitely be one of the biggest moments in my college journey!

It took me two tries to be able to become a BMS officer. I was not really used to rejections, so getting rejected on my first application posed a shock to me. It made me realize that there are other people better than me, and that I still have a lot of things to improve on. At first, I was hesitant whether I should try to apply for an officer again since I had to go through a whole year of training before being eligible to apply again. Basically, I had to repeat the things I did the past year. After a long reflection, I willingly applied and gave it my all this time around. Thankfully, I got accepted in my application and was placed in Documentations for my stint this year.
