Flooding is a serious problem in Malaysia, especially during the rainy season. Heavy rain causes rivers to overflow, leading to floods in many states like Kelantan, Terengganu, Johor, and Pahang. Thousands of people have to leave their homes and move to temporary shelters.

Schools and factories are closed, and roads are damaged.

The government helps by sending rescue teams, giving food and medicine, and opening flood shelters. However, floods continue to happen every year, and many people suffer.

The article shows that floods are a yearly problem in Malaysia. It affects people's lives, damages property, and causes economic loss.

Although the government provides help, more needs to be done to prevent future floods.As the government, it is our responsibility to address the flood issues affecting our country. This is because when floods occur, many daily activities have to be postponed. For example, factories may be forced to close. As a result, this can reduce the country’s economic profit. Therefore, the government is responsible for efforts such as widening drains or rivers, and improving weather forecasting so that the public can be better prepared.

In the small town of Kuala Krai, Kelantan, the water rose so fast that residents barely had time to react. Houses were swept away, roads turned into rivers, and power was cut off for days. Families climbed to rooftops, waiting for rescue. Among them was a 12-year-old boy named Amir and his grandmother. Trapped on the second floor of their house, they had no food or clean water for two days.

Just when hope seemed lost, a group of volunteers arrived by boat. They came with supplies—food, clean water, and medicine—and helped evacuate the stranded residents. Amir and his grandmother were rescued and brought to a flood relief center. There, people of all races and backgrounds worked together—cooking, cleaning, and comforting each other.

The flood left a trail of destruction, but it also revealed the spirit of unity and compassion among Malaysians. From government agencies to ordinary citizens, thousands came forward to help. Donations poured in, and rebuilding began.

Though the scars of the 2014 flood remain, so does the memory of how Malaysians stood strong together in the face of disaster.
