I am looking forward to using Padlet as an information bulletin board for parents. First grade is planning a field trip later this month and are planning to share the trip with parents. Along with photos we'll take, parents will be asked to share their pictures as well. Thanks Cara for this great idea!

I use Padlet for slef and peer assement in art. Its great to give students a voice and allows them to work collaboratively . Its great that they can see eachothers work all in one place and learn from each other.

Writing & Class Discussions

I have utilized padlet within my classroom with writing and class discussions. It has been helpful for sharing a thesis sentence, a hook, introduction, conclusion, etc. This is a great way to "share out" with all of the students at the conclusion of the lesson. It is also a great way to edit and give feedback quickly to several students.

Padlet useful for summarizing information that they learned during a lesson. We've also used Padlet to jigsaw topics and assignments, as well as to brainstorm various information. ~

We have been using Padlet for most of the school year in my class. We have used it to set goals for each quarter, brainstorming for writing prompts, and class discussions. When brainstorming students were able to see their classmates' ideas, which allowed them to broaden their own understanding of the topic. Some of the students I work closely with sometimes feel their answers are not correct and therefore don't often participate in class discussions. Using Padlet allows them to contribute their ideas anonymously, thus giving them each a voice in the class.

Padlet, also allows me to get a quick read on how well students understand a topic or lesson. Recently, we have been working on paraphrasing when note taking. I post a phrase and the students must rephrase that phrase in their own words using synonyms. It is interesting to see how they each can take one phrase and say it differently. It provides a different perspective for each of them, while also allowing me to see who understands the concept and who may need assistance.

I use Padlet to have students make connections between their vocab words. They can move the words around to put similar words together. As we learn new words, we just add them to Padlet. At the end of a unit, we have an easy way to review.

Having fun between two lessons should be allowed from time to time. Let your students add funny videos to a Padlet board. So every student can have some fun during the lesson breaks. Make sure to put in some rules and to check the videos on the wall.
