Main Idea: Big companies and people put trash and bad things down drains and into the sea and kill all the animals.

Major theme: Don't pour chemicals into the water.

Minor themes: we can throw away our trash it keeps the land pretty to. using oil is bad. people play on the beach, keep it pretty.

Group 1: You CAN be more specific with main idea. Remember, it is a short summary of what the video is about for people who didn't watch it.
For motif: I would like for it to be 1-2 words, but what you wrote was a repeated idea (and a good one!) so I'll accept it.
Major theme: What you guys wrote is a catch phrase, if we were going to make our own video or a poster we could use this as a title to grab attention. What lesson does the video teach many people about polluting?
minor theme: it was hard to find a minor theme with this video, but the 2nd group was right - a minor theme is not a fact from the video. What is a personal lesson you learned from the video?

Group 2: Good job giving feedback on every part of group 1's post. Was there anything you REALLY liked about group 1's ideas? How could you explain what they need to change in more detail?
main idea: Good job being specific to the story! Don't forget that the video was mostly about keeping the water clean.
motif: great job choosing two words that describe the main repeated ideas throughout the video. 
major theme: This was a good start. Add in WHY we shouldn't pour chemicals into the water, and is it just chemicals we have to be careful of?
minor theme: it was very hard to find a minor theme with this video, but you guys found a great one! 

Mrs. Brooks' major theme: "Be careful not to pollute, because it hurts our water source and everything that uses water."
