         <title>Who am i? Only one teacher from portugal. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello. My name is Fábio Machuqueiro and I live in Póvoa de Santo Adrião in Portugal. I am 32 years old and I finished my course two years ago in 2017. I live with my girlfriend and although I do not have children yet, I really want to have in the future. When I was a child, I did not know that I wanted to be a teacher and today I do not see myself doing anything else. I completed the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education and 1st Cycle of Basic Education, in the Higher Education School of Setúbal, my hometown. My favorite subjects are History, Portuguese Language, Information and Communication Technologies and arts. I love working with small children and I know that I learn everyday with my students. To tell you the truth, I think children are the most genuine learners we can find in our lives. It seems they never tire of learning. It's fantastic! In addition to studying and working with children, I also have other interests: I love good reading, a coffee in the middle of the afternoon, a relaxed conversation with friends. I like to see the sea and think about life and about my future plans. I love watching football and I am a fan of Sporting Lisbon. But my favorite hobby is board games. I am passionate about board games and I have the dream to create a project that helps children from problematic contexts learn various skills through the potential that board games can have, such as reflection, decision making, learning to live with defeat and many other skills.</div>]]></description>

         <title>My non-formal learning.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When I think of non-formal learning, I think of a type of education that tries to confront the failures of Formal Education. Non-formal education is all the learning that we have outside of the school learning context. I think that non-formal education is a complement to formal education and should not be seen as an opposition, but rather developed in articulation with formal education. In my opinion non-formal education can also be seen as a process of social learning that was formerly associated with what our parents called the "School of Life" and today it is mixed with several transversal subjects such as health education , education for the environment, etc. <br><br>During my life, I have always seen non-formal learning as a very important part of my education and learning as a man. Non-formal learning gave me the knowledge and skills necessary to follow my life as a man and an adult. Today, I am of the opinion that this knowledge and these skills allow me to work in various learning contexts and take on my own personality and role as a teacher. This "School of Life" allows me to learn new things in any context through the sharing of learning and experiences during my daily life. Learning as values, human rights, tolerance, promoting peace, solidarity, honesty, justice, friendship, among many others, have given me the opportunity to develop my social competence as a teacher. <br><br>I am like "The Hard Ass Teacher" combined with "The Heartfelt Teacher", because one of the values ​​I learned from my non-formal learning was: Doing everything for my students, as long as they always give their best.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Teachers on Twitter: Why?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have a very particular opinion about the use of Twitter in the classroom. I think the use of new technologies in the classroom is very important, but starting to use new tools when exists a traditional routine is not easy. <br>By the way, adopting communication tools is not easy. Sometimes I start using a new tool or platform and eventually I give up on them. But I still think it very important to use new technology tools in the classroom and one of them is Twitter.<br>Twitter is a tool that can be used to teaching and enable more efficient communication between students and teachers. Teachers gain space to collaborate with students and with each other. They can see aspects of teaching and learning that are difficult to do in the classroom today. With Twitter, we can work on writing, present papers and discuss ideas with our students.<br>Social networks are part of everyday life and, increasingly, this is an unalterable reality. Teachers need to adapt to this new technological world because they can also motivate their students and become teachers of the modern era.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Learning with BoardGames</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Board games are very good for developing cognitive, emotional, moral and social skills. Board games allow the development of confidence skills because the student has the opportunity to question, think, reflect and correct their actions dealing with the making of choice. The student learns to compare points of view, learns to deal with defeat, and manages moments of frustration. In my opinion, only the fact that the student feels stimulated to learn already guarantees the learning of certain content worked on a thematic board game. In my opinion the act of playing allows the student and the teacher to make mutual learning in a very fun way. It is possible to work the history of Portugal with the board game "D.Afonso Henriques" or the global history of the world with the board game "Stone Age". I can work math with the board game "Smash Up" because it combines the constant sum and subtraction of victory points allied to the children's taste for collecting cards. I can work geography with "Ticket to Ride" or the imagination and creativity with "Dixit" ... And why not pick up the "Dixit" board game and explore the wonderful illustration of the letters to work on the narrative text? The board game is an excellent tool. However, great care must be taken, as the act of playing and all that is associated with playful play is not yet fully appreciated by the educational community. I'm sad, but it's true. It's my opinion. In Portugal it is necessary to continue developing the concept of Gamification.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
