Compass evaluations are completed three times each academic year in Terms 2, 4 & 6 . Thank you to all schools and colleges that have completed their recent evaluations. Your participation is greatly appreciated and provides vital information to the Department for Education (DfE), helping to demonstrate the impact of careers education across Kent and Medway and informing future national developments.

System Update

Currently, our recording system for Compass evaluations is taking between 24 and 48 hours to display completed evaluation results. We are hopeful that this will return to an immediate update process soon. The Careers & Enterprise Company team is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it.

Join Bob Neame for a practical, subject-specific session on Gatsby Benchmark 4: Linking curriculum learning to careers. You’ll leave with realistic strategies and ready-to-adapt examples that help students see the purpose of what they’re learning—without adding unsustainable workload.

Who it’s for: Subject teachers and Heads of Department (all subjects) who want careers learning to be relevant, achievable and impactful.

What we’ll cover (with classroom-ready examples):

• What Benchmark 4 is asking for (and what it can look like in day-to-day teaching)

• Simple ways to make explicit links between your curriculum, skills and real pathways (study, apprenticeships and work)

• How to deepen impact over time—moving from one-off ‘careers moments’ to consistent, planned practice

• What evidence can look like for departments (quick wins, mapping opportunities, and capturing impact)

• Useful resources you can reuse immediately (templates, prompts and signposting)

New workshops and new speakers but the same great venue! The Kent and Medway Careers Hub team are excited for this year's event, and we know you will leave feeling the same positivity for the year ahead that you did last year.

The event will set the scene for the new academic year, giving attendees the opportunity to hear from national partners about most recent updates to statutory guidance and a summary of key white papers. There will be a number of interactive and informative workshops as well as opportunities to network with fellow careers professionals.

Students work on genuine challenges from Asda’s ESG strategy, applying

their learning to build critical thinking, problem-solving and data analysis

skills. They also gain valuable insight into retail careers and develop key

employability skills.

Each team is supported by an Asda colleague who mentors them throughout,

ensuring ideas are grounded in real business thinking and providing direct

industry exposure.
