From this poster, I learned that the Pillars of Islam are the main foundation of a Muslim’s life. It begins with the declaration of faith, or syahadah, which affirms that there is no god but Allah and that Prophet Muhammad is His messenger. A Muslim must also perform the five daily prayers to connect with Allah and nurture obedience and discipline within the soul. In addition, Muslims who are able must give zakat to help those in need, thereby purifying their wealth from greed. Fasting during the month of Ramadan teaches us self-restraint, patience, and empathy for the poor. Lastly, performing the pilgrimage (hajj) to Mecca is obligatory for those who are capable, symbolizing unity and submission to Allah. Through these five pillars, a Muslim can build a life that is faithful, disciplined, and noble in character.

أركان الايمان ( Pillars of Faith)

This picture explains the Pillars of Faith (Arkan al-Iman) in Islam, which are the foundations upon which a Muslim’s belief in Allah is built. The first pillar is belief in Allah, meaning the firm conviction that Allah is the One and Only God, with no partner in His divinity, lordship, or names and attributes. He is the Creator and the Sustainer of everything in the universe, and a believer must have faith in His oneness, perfect attributes, and wisdom in all matters.

The second pillar is belief in the angels, who are light-based beings created by Allah from light. They never disobey Allah’s commands and always do as they are instructed. They neither eat nor sleep nor sin, and their duty is to carry out Allah’s orders — such as Jibril (Gabriel), who brings revelation; Mikail (Michael), who is in charge of sustenance; Israfil, who will blow the trumpet; and the Angel of Death, who takes souls.

The third pillar is belief in the revealed scriptures, which are the divine books sent by Allah to His prophets to guide humanity — such as the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, and finally the Qur’an, which is the final and complete book, confirming and perfecting all previous scriptures. The Qur’an is the ultimate divine guidance for all mankind, containing light, guidance, and laws that organize human life in this world and the Hereafter.

That's all for me— thank you very much.

Pillars of Iman ( Faith )

As I already learned last week about the first three of Pillars of Iman, now I continue to comprehend other three of it which is the importance of believing in the messengers of Allah. There are 25 prophets that every Muslim must know, all of whom were chosen by Allah to deliver His true message to guide humanity towards righteousness. This belief reminds us to follow their teachings, live with honesty and sincerity, and spread goodness as they did.

The poster also teaches about belief in the Day of Judgment (Hari Kiamat). It reminds us that life in this world is temporary, and that one day every person will be judged for their deeds. This encourages us to constantly improve ourselves, do good deeds, and avoid wrongdoing because every action, whether good or bad, will be weighed by Allah in the Hereafter.

Lastly, I learned about belief in Qada and Qadar (divine decree and destiny). Qada refers to Allah’s fixed and unchangeable decisions, while Qadar is the unfolding of destiny that can be influenced by human effort and choice. This belief teaches us to have faith in Allah’s plan, to accept what happens with patience, and to continue striving for the best in life, knowing that our efforts are part of Allah’s wisdom.

Syukran Jazilan

This poster teaches the concept of Ihsan, which means performing good deeds sincerely as if one is in the presence of Allah. It highlights that Ihsan should be practiced in all aspects of life — towards Allah, humans, and animals. Ihsan towards Allah involves praying with sincerity and devotion, as though seeing Him, and always seeking His pleasure. Ihsan towards humans means treating others with kindness, doing good deeds, and avoiding harm. Lastly, Ihsan towards animals emphasizes helping creatures in need and showing them respect and care. Overall, the poster encourages living a life of compassion, sincerity, and goodness in every action, guided by awareness of Allah’s presence.

Manners ( with family )

Related to the topic of my usrah this week, I understand that good manners with family means showing respect and behaving nicely toward family members like parents, siblings, and relatives. This includes speaking politely, helping with chores, and not raising your voice when talking. The family is the first place where we learn about good manners and moral values, so it’s important to treat our family members kindly.

When everyone in the family has good manners, the home becomes peaceful and full of love. There will be fewer arguments, and everyone will feel cared for. Children who respect their parents will receive blessings in life, while parents who treat their children well will set a good example for them to follow.

Besides that, having good manners with family also shows what kind of person we are. If we are respectful and caring at home, people outside will also see us as kind and polite. So, practicing good manners with family not only strengthens our bond but also shows that we are grateful and have a good character.

Ethics in warfare in Islam

From this poster, we can learn about the ethical code of war taught by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which emphasizes mercy, justice, and humanity even during conflict. Islam teaches that war should only be fought for defense and justice, never for cruelty or destruction. The Prophet’s guidance reminds Muslims that moral values must be upheld at all times, proving that Islam is a religion of peace and compassion, even in times of hardship.

The poster lists several prohibitions that reflect the Prophet’s teachings: do not kill women, children, the sick, or the elderly. This command is rooted in hadith, as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

“Do not kill any old person, any child, or any woman.” (Sunan Abu Dawud, 2669)
This hadith clearly outlines the protection of non-combatants, showing that Islam respects human life regardless of circumstances. It also reminds believers that even in war, there are moral boundaries that cannot be crossed.

The poster also forbids destroying places of worship, harming nature, or killing animals unnecessarily, which reflects environmental and spiritual responsibility. In another hadith, the Prophet said:

“Do not cut down fruit-bearing trees, do not destroy inhabited places.” (Al-Muwatta, 21/10)
This demonstrates Islam’s care for the environment and property. Similarly, Allah says in the Qur’an:
“And do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:60)
These teachings highlight that Muslims are forbidden from causing unnecessary destruction or chaos.

Furthermore, the poster reminds believers not to betray, deprive prisoners of food, or force anyone into Islam. The Qur’an explicitly states:

“There is no compulsion in religion.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:256)
This verse emphasizes freedom of belief and rejects forced conversions. In addition, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“Fulfill the trust for the one who entrusted you, and do not betray the one who betrayed you.” (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 1264)
These teachings underline the importance of honesty, justice, and compassion, even towards enemies.

In conclusion, this poster beautifully summarizes the Prophet’s ethical code of war, grounded in the Qur’an and Hadith. It teaches that Islam promotes justice, mercy, and respect for all life, even in times of conflict. The message serves as a reminder that true strength lies not in destruction, but in maintaining humanity, compassion, and moral integrity. Islam’s vision of war is one that upholds peace, dignity, and the sanctity of creation.

My Wish and Reflection

For my wish and reflection in this final usrah session, I sincerely hope (أتمنى) that I will continue to become a person who brings benefit and goodness to others, especially to my beloved parents (والدَيَّ) who have guided, supported, and nurtured me with endless love and patience since my childhood (منذ الطفولة). Their sacrifices and prayers have been the foundation of who I am today, and I pray that Allah SWT grants me the strength and opportunity to repay even a small part of their kindness.

As Allah SWT says in the Qur’an, in Surah Al-Isra’, verse 23:

وَقَضَىٰ رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا۟ إِلَّآ إِيَّاهُ وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَٰنًا ۚ
“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to your parents.”

This verse reminds me that serving and honoring our parents is not just an act of love, but also an act of worship that pleases Allah SWT. It teaches me that no matter how busy or successful I become, I must never neglect my duties and respect towards them.

Through this usrah, I learned to reflect deeply on my responsibilities as a Muslim and as a child. It has opened my heart to appreciate the sacrifices of my parents and to always strive to be a source of happiness and pride for them. I realize that true success in life is not measured by wealth or status, but by sincerity, gratitude, and obedience to Allah and our parents.

In conclusion, my greatest wish is to live a life that earns the pleasure of Allah SWT and the blessings of my parents. I hope that the knowledge and values gained from usrah will continue to guide me to become a more grateful, respectful, and faithful servant of Allah (عبد شاكر).

Preparing for ṣalāh with khushūʿ begins before standing on the prayer mat. A Muslim clears the heart from distractions, renews sincere intention (niyyah), and remembers that ṣalāh is a private meeting with Allah. Performing wuḍūʾ calmly and mindfully helps wash away not only physical impurity but also mental restlessness.

Next, choosing a clean, quiet place and praying on time strengthens focus. Wearing modest, neat clothing and facing the qiblah with awareness prepares both body and soul. Turning off distractions and slowing down the movements of ṣalāh allows the heart to settle and be fully present.

Finally, understanding the meanings of the recitations deepens humility and concentration. When the worshipper reflects on every word said to Allah, ṣalāh becomes more than routine—it becomes a moment of sincere connection, submission, and inner peace.
