5. The central idea of Chapter 2 in The "Unteachables" is that Kiana gets put in the wrong class. Her stepdad forgets to sign her in, so she ends up in SCS-8. According to the text, she calls "the class for misfit toys." This illustrates how unfairly the Unteachables are treated and establishes the theme of judging children by labels.

A (Answer): She is mistakenly placed in SCS-8, even though she isn’t supposed to be there.

C (Cite): The text shows this when Kiana says it is “the class for misfit toys,” which proves the kids in SCS-8 are seen as different from everyone else.

Based on this facts it is true that Conner did fall asleep and Alex did answer all the questions.

Another example on page 43 is that because admiral Lutjens put the ship on a zigzag pattern only one torpedo hit the ship. This shows that the text structure is cause and effect, this helps readers understand what caused another thing to happen.

5. As i read this chapter, I found a few examples of figurative language. The author used both opportunity and concussion. Opportunity is when you have a chance in something or you have a chance to improve in something.

Concussion is when something happens on your brain or something inside your brain. And also a concussion most of the time makes you forget most of you memories like, you forget who you are or where you are or who your family members are and way more.

5.The Central Idea for Chapter 1 is that Hollis is in the car and being driven by the Mustard woman to her new home. According to the text, when Hollis gets to her new home she thinks in her head about how long she will stay there and how she has run away from all of her foster homes before. For example she would say to herself "one morning I'll wake up and decide I've had enough". This shows what Hollis Woods thinks and does when moving to a new foster home.

5. My favorite character in "The Shape of Thunder is Quinn. The character that deserves more attention is Parker. (Quinn's sibling) Mabel (Cora's sibling) may not be the main character but she deserves to be talked about more. Quinn is my favorite character because she is very outgoing. She is doing everything to replace her friendship with Cora. Quinn's emotions have been sad, scared, and loneliness because she misses Cora. Quinn's behaviors have been different then when she was younger. This character Quinn means a lot in this book and without her the book would not be as good as it is.

This shows that the text structure is cause and effect, this helps readers understand what caused another thing to happen.

After awhile they finally decided to let him free, once they did they saw it run away farther than they could see. It looked as if the tiger was never really in a cage. 5. The summary of the pages I read is Carter needs to save his friends. Carter finds out that his Mr. Grimes is not the criminal it is his twin brother and now Carter has to save the the day by saving his friends lives while with two broken legs and in a wheel chair from a snow leopard and he brakes his mom's drone while he saves them. On page 177 Carter almost get's killed by the snow leopard and then the smugglers come in shoot the leopard and jump into the truck but soon the police come and arrest the smuggler's. So that concludes the book Snoop and I thought it was amazing.

He sprints to shore then he saw the fin turn away. He knows it is a shark because it shocks him. Based on what I read I know that he got scratched by the shark.

Here is what happens in chapters 6-7. Rex and his friend Darvish were walking to the pet store to get supplies for his chicken. While they were walking to the pet store they noticed there was an old arcade game. So they went over to check it out. Rex said he wanted to play. A glowing Grim Reaper popped up and gave Rex a wish. Rex wished for a dog. The Grim Reaper placed three cups in front of him. Under one of the cups was a coin. The Grim Reaper shuffled them up. Rex picked a cup but it wasn't in that cup so Rex lost and his wish was not granted.

5. The book that I'm reading is a really good mystery scary book. The setting is outside and the main character is named Jac, her full name is Jacqueline. Her friends name is Hazel. Hazel and Jac have bullies and the bullies names are John and Sam. This is Jac's 5 year anniversary of having cancer. Jac sees a very strange house that has appeared at the end of her block. She wants to show Hazel so she does. She shows him the house and at first Hazel thinks nothing of it until Sam and John show up. Sam is John's best friend. When they show up. According to the author, John says, "Hey loser." to Hazel. this shows that John is mean. They always made fun of his name because it's a "girl name" Jac stands up for Hazel. and the text states that Jac says, "Hey, if I go into the house then you have to leave Hazel alone." This shows that Jac is brave and will go into the house for Hazel. So then Jac goes into the house, she hesitates a little bit. Then turns the nob and opens the door, they all go in and the door behind them slams shut. They look around and John says that they should get out, so they do. John opens the door but they are still inside they can't get out because it keeps looking the same.

Then John goes to the kitchen and screams. The rest of the kids come running into the kitchen. Green gross stuff oozed out of the fridge. John explains what happens and they then go back to the main room. John goes up to the balcony to see if there is a way out,

5. For my Text Structure i am going to compare and contrast the Regan's and Josie Cahill's family. They are different in many ways. One reason they are different is that Josie's family is only made up of her and her cat, and the regan's have 3 people in their family. They are similar because they both want Hollis to stay with them. they are also very similar because they both love to be outside. Here are some examples from the text. Hollis thinks " Between the rocks were pockets of water, and some of them and some of them had tiny fish swimming around in them, fish so small they were blurs of pewter. and from the regan's, " Do you know how to fish steven asked. If I wanted to. I squinted at the river; didn't know how to fish, didn't know how to swim. 5. As I read chapter 5, I found a few examples of figurative language. The author used both thrilled and backfiring. Thrilled is when your shocked about something. the author used it in the story like this, I'm doubly thrilled that my shoulder is holding up fine. Backfiring is when you regret something or you made a bad choice. The author used it in the story like this, he drives off, his truck is backfiring as he pulls away from the curb.

5. My favorite character is Isal, The main character. But in my opinion, Siffrin is the character that deserves more attention. Siffrin may not be the main character but he deserves more attention because the author at first made Siffrin look like he was trying to help Isla find her brother, but, The author kept dropping tiny hints throughout the book about Siffrin. One of the hints the author said was "Get back! Come away from there. You don't know what she's capable of! If Karka sees you, we're as good as dead." This is why, later in the book, Isla accuses Siffrin of being in Karka's skulk. But no, He admits to committing an even bigger crime. He attmitted to watching Karka kill Isal's family. Siffrin has really made this story intriguing, eventful and pleasant to read.

5. Felix's point of view is first person I can show this by these 2 sentences. " Can I hire you to watch my dog?" Also "Ill call Mr. Trulz and set it up." They both use I. This shows that Felix is the narrator of the story.

The point of view is Daniel how I know this is because in "Took" it says "I" or "me" or "myself" that is how I can tell and because in one part of the story it says "About your secret" I said "the one you may or may not have. has it got anything to do with the woods?" "I'm reading to little Erica now." my sister said "do not interrupt me!" I wanted to throw the book in the corner and hurl the doll after it.

This shows that he is speaking or doing the action, and we can connect our own experiences from our point of view to theirs.

5. The text Structure is problem and solution. The problem is that Chase's friends are trying to get the medal before he returns it to the person Chase stole it from. Chase did not know that he stole the medal so he is trying to give it back. The solution is that Chase gave the medal back and only Brendan's face is purple.

5. My favorite character is Rex and according to the author he has a curse, but not just any curse. It's the Grim Reapers curse. What I like about Rex is that he can talk to dead animals, but his friend doesn't believe him. He's also mad that his friend doesn't believe him and its getting him into trouble in school by talking about it. example: ''Do I have your full attention Because if i don't you two will go to detention Rex and Darvish'' says Mrs. Yardly and that's why he's my favorite character.

5. The character that deserved more attention was Alex Bailey. She literally climbed up Rapunzel's Tower. The reason she did not get more attention is because there are two characters that the author focuses on which are Conner Bailey, and Alex Bailey. Some Evidence is on page 121 it states "Hello Malumclaw, Hello Goldilocks". This shows that they there are more characters that are focused on. Alex also did not get more attention because there are tons of different characters like Froggy and Goldilocks, even though Alex is a main character there are lots more characters that distract from her attention. This shows that all those other characters distract from her attention.

5. In "The Shape of Thunder" for chapter 12 through 14 the text structure is cause and effect. I know this because in Cora's chapter on page 92 she thinks, "The alarm is ringing, but the only thing I hear is my heartbeat. My lungs ache like they're underwater. I'm gulping for air. I picture Mabel that morning, November 11. Did they even have a lock down?" The cause for this chapter is Mabel dying at school. The effect is Cora got scared during a lock down because she is thinking about Mabel so much. For Quinn The text structure is also cause and effect. Some evidence is on page 90 She is thinking, "No one is supposed to talk during these drills. The idea is that you don't want someone to be able to find you. I'm holding my breath, but I am not exactly scared. I'm scared because I'm not scared. Because I know that if someone like Parker wanted to come hurt us all, he could. And he would." The text structure is cause and effect for Quinn too because the cause is her brother Parker shot some people at school and now the effect is Quinn knows anyone can change and would come and do that to the students and teachers at her school. To conclude the text structure is cause and effect for both Quinn and Cora because they both had moments that caused them to panic during lock downs.

5. The authors purpose in this book is entertain. I know this because on page 149 it says, "Even lily tried to do kung-fu but she kept spinning around and barfing!" So I know that lily cant do kung-fue.

5. the central idea for the chapter I was reading was about how the B-17 was useful in WW2. It also talked about the pros the cons and how the design of the B-17 over the course of the war. For example on page 102-103 the text stated "the gunners kept bumping into each other. It wasn't until the G-models were developed that the waist gunner positions were staggered for maneuverability." Another example on page 103 said "some of the B-17's biggest problems were the windscreens that iced up^___which were later changed to double-glazed," Therefore the reader knows in what ways the B-17 were useful, they also know how the B-17 has changed over the course of the war.

5. The section I am currently reading is about a girl named Jac, short for Jacqueline, and her friend Hazel. I know this because on pages 2-3. This shows me what Jac is like.

According to the author, Sam has now been taken by the wet, grey hand with long fingernails, and Hazel and Jac are left by themselves in the house, which appears to be a library. This shows that this "house" might not actually be a house; it might be a library instead. According to the author, some typewriters type "by themselves," which makes Hazel and Jac wonder if this is actually a prank by John and Sam, or if it's actually ghosts. This shows that John and Sam are actually really, really mean bullies at heart. At one point, the text states that Hazel sees a door/a way out. He runs to it, but Jac stays still where she is standing because then ghosts start to form by the typewriters. This shows that this house is actually haunted and that Sam and John are not actually pranking them. Jac then sees a slip of paper on one of the typewriters, but no one is at the desk. She then carefully walks toward it and picks it up, starting to read it. According to the author the note says "symptoms include: headaches, nausea, speech, or balance issues" This shows that Jac is worried because these are all symptoms of cancer that she has been having through out her time in the house.

5. The central idea of "Super Gifted" chapter four, pages 39-48 is that Megan is mad that Noah is on the cheerleading team and so is Hash. It's all because Noah messes up the routines and the game. The text says on page 34 Megan says, "I honestly thought my head might explode that's a boy." This shows that Megan is very frustrated that Noah is on the cheerleading squad and feels no boys should be allowed.

The central idea of pages 209-216 in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is about how Harry, Ron, and Hermione are staying at Hogwarts for the holidays and are trying to brew a potion that will turn two of them into Malfoy's two best friends, Crabbe and Goyle. Harry, Hermione, or Ron plan to take the potion to disguise themselves as Crabbe and Goyle so they can talk to Malfoy behind Malfoy's back. This shows she found a radio and continues to look through the other houses on her block and find other supplies to help survive.

I also think that maybe Maya and Al like each other.

It might be nice to lift some weights with your dad too." The author could explain what Mr. Turner is doing while Zee and Elijah are hanging out. If he does the daily quest he gets rewards, if he doesn't do the daily quest he gets teleported to the penalty zone where he is chased by giant centipedes for 4 hours and what makes it worse, the centipedes have poisonous fangs. For example on page 76 the text states "If he wanted to live, he had to run! That was the only thought in his head." this shows that Jinwoo is scared. Jinwoo was sent to the penalty zone once before and now he does his daily quests without complaints. Greta looked through the gate to try and find her brother but had no luck so they kept walking. After a couple minutes Greta looks over and sees her brother's bright blonde hair. Her brother waves and points down, then her dad came into sight. There was a soldier coming so Greta quickly waved then walked the rest of the way to school. After school Greta found a shovel in the basement and started digging to find something that her dad may have left her. There was nothing but she was still convinced. At dinner her mom told her that Peter left but Greta already knew so did her brother Fritz. This sentence on page 48 shows that, "Anna's parents got a visit from the Stasi this afternoon. Peter attempted an escape last night, hidden in a special panel of a car from the west. He was discovered before reaching the border and tried to make a run to the west, but they shot him in the back. In all the confusion the students driving the car were able to escape, but Peter didn't make it." This shows that Peter tried to escape and Greta's mom was telling her about it. To conclude pretty much Peter tried to escape to the west and ended up getting shot.

For example, "So, you're the president of PUPAE," says Darvish. "Aren't you supposed to be the king of the tree-huggers?" "Give me a break, " Talon says. "I don't care about animals." We marched for hours upon hours each day, stumbling and staggering along as best we could." Then it all comes down to Red Riding Hood she tries stalling but The Enchantress is smart and threatens to kill all of her people. They are both on a robotics team. The setting is at the hotel, after Georgie and Michelle's wedding. Everyone is disappointed in how Benji and Felix are spending the money. Benji and Felix felt happy about spending that money because they think of it as a win-win. Georgie and Michelle enjoy the concert and Benji and Felix are closer to spending the money and getting the grand prize. This explains how it's stressful because the group Apex-7 who performed gave them most of the money back, so now Felix and Benji are stuck with extra money and they have to figure out how to spend all of that money in a short time.

He has a lantern with him so he could see. Harry accidentally drops the lantern and Filch comes in, but does not find him and he was able to get away. I know that he got away because in the text it says "He passed Filch in the doorway; Filch's pale, wild eyes looked straight through him, and Harry slipped under Filch's outstretched arm and streaked off up the corridor." Later, she finds out that Jessica STOLE her video and said the EXACT SAME WORDS in her video and got millions of views. It turns out that the author of "Frizzy" commented on Jessica's video and said that she loved "HER" book talk. Lina is trying to find ways to get revenge on Jessica and try to get more followers.

5. The character that deserves more attention in this section that I am reading is Felix. Felix deserves more attention because him and Benji were talking and Felix was holding Freebie, the dog's leash, when he broke free and ran into the road. He got run over so they took him to the vet and Felix really wanted them to save Freebie. For example "We have the money!" Felix suddenly shouted. "We can pay anything thousands, millions anything! Just save him!" This shows that Felix is willing to give anything for his dog to be saved.
