It has been an incredible experience. I had a vision on how I wanted the school to include college planning and Emmanuel went above and beyond. Not only does he work with our graduating seniors with college enrollment and financial add, he partnered with Cal State East Bay and created a Financial Aid information night for the school. It was amazing. His loss will impact the school but I know he will be wonderful no matter where he ends up. Thank you Emmanuel for our heart and dedication to our students.

Nilya has been a leader this year around all things COVID, first of all. From making sure all students get vaccinated to testing and contact tracing for students and staff, Nilya has led the way for our school.  Nilya has also supported so many other aspects of school life this year, too many to mention here---but I do want to recognize that Nilya has supported student leadership. She has provided support for seniors to plan their prom and graduation ceremony. What makes Nilya's work special is that she was once a student here. I love how she is a role model for students. I am excited for Nilya's future plans. I know that Nilya will make her mark where ever she goes!

This was his first year at Laurel , at first he was a little nervous about what the year would bring , he wanted to make sure he was doing things the right way. After some time he began to fit right in. Mr. Riley began to form relationships with our students who needed extra attention and they took off form there. I would catch him on the ground talking to students to make sure they were ok and even reading a book in the hallway with students.

He brings his all everyday, exhibiting his authentic leadership by asking questions, offering creative perspectives and solutions, and taking the lead on essential parts of projects.
