Loser follows a boy named Donald Zinkoff. An appropriate last name due to how extraordinary he is, it reflects the character in question. If I were to be tasked with describing Donald in one word it would be happy- then it would be, “different.” At a young age most of not all people act insecure about themselves and don’t really show their true self in fear that it would be made fun of. This statement is far from true to describe Donald Zinkoff. On his first day of school, he wears a giraffe hat, due to its ridiculousness and 3-foot stature he gets into multiple scenarios with it. One of them is when he gushes about how much he loves it in front of his first grade class. Within his first year of school, he gets in trouble for a bizarre reason- laughing. But not because he made an inappropriate joke, or it was in the middle of a math test, no. It’s because his teacher said the word “Jabip” and he quite literally fell out of his seat in laughter because of it.

To get back to why I would describe him as happy. I would first like to start this off with a quote from pages 6-7.
“There are winners everywhere. The sidewalks. The backyards. The alleyways. The playgrounds. Winners. Except for Zinkoff. Zinkoff never wins. But Zinkoff doesn’t notice. Neither do the other pups. Not yet. “ In this book, Zinkoff is put into many different life experiences. In the majority of them, he is trudging through with the biggest smile on his face. An example of this is when his giraffe hat gets stolen by a fourth-grader, instead of making a fuss, or crying, he treats the whole situation like a comedy sketch. He is laughing through the entirety of it. He will be getting harassed by bullies, yet he won’t notice or care, in fact, he will be 🤬 in tears of laughter-not sadness.

This book is a true story about a girl named Caitlin who lives in Pennsylvania and a boy named Martin who lives in Zimbabwe, Africa. Their school assigns them as pen pals, and they soon become best friends just by sending letters. Martin's family is really poor, so throughout the book, Caitlin and her family help him and his family and they eventually help him get into an American University. I really liked this book and how it was a true story.

In this story the main character Matt is faced with a new challenge as he recently moved to Nevada. He has had to move anywhere his mom's job required. As he gets settled into Nevada he meets a military dog by the name of Scout. His mother believes the dog is not fit for the job and sends him off. Matt is determined to show his mother that Scout has what it takes, all while trying to fit in at his new home. This book is a great book and I highly recommend this to anyone who likes adventure or realistic fiction. Overall it will keep you on the edge of your seat and you will not want to put it down.

Each has to overcome a injustice throughout the story. Their stories gave an insight on how they're lives changed forever. I liked how it showed others struggles and how they overcame them.

This book is about a 12 year old german girl named Greta and her journey of getting back to her family after it was divided by the Berlin Wall. The story is her, her mom, and her brother trying to find her father and middle brother. Gerta sees her father one night on a viewing platform doing an odd dance trying to tell her to escape from under the wall with her brother. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.
