Well that's a very easy question to answer. The main reason for the Komodo Dragons going extinct is simply just overhunting. Another cause to the extinction is Climate Change. Since the Komodo Dragons have lived for so long, millions of years, they have had a difficult time adapting to the new climates that are much different from the ones a million years ago.
