By Mauricio Acosta Rodríguez
I consider that learning goes quite well when an adequate model is present. For this reason, it is up to the teachers to create the best possible models for our students, and as Professor Julián mentioned, to break down the process in several units. These units should be challenging enough that can be taken by our students without having a feeling of powerlessness. I would like to present an activity I did with my students. I took them to the computer laboratory and taught them how record and edit a Podcast. I provided them with some examples of professional podcasts, and with my own amateur one. Here is what they did:

Is very interesting to think of ourselves as architects of learning experiences. We should try to create significant and relevant learning experiences for our students. With the 5th grade students, last trimester we worked on a project that tried to make students understand the economical differences between state centered economy and laissez faire to do this we designed a learning experience with individual, group and class moments. As well as different activities that lead students into the creation of an economical policy for their nation (all through the year 5th graders have been working on the creation of a nation Prom 2025). During the design process I had to meet up with several teachers, ask them for counsel and build the project together. To facilitate the learning experience the design had to create a worksheet, which guided the students through the challenge. The worksheet was done with the help of illustrator.

This is probably the most challenging aspect of being a teacher because it comprehends a wide number of variables. We have been meeting to discuss and share our ideas to plan the final product. It is nice to have different teachers from different areas creating something new for students. The different points of view and knowledge refresh the sense of teaching and collaborating. I think this is amazing for students to see because they can learn from us to develop competencies and we can have them expanding their knowledge through technology which is the mean that they constantly have contact with and enjoy.

For this reason, it is important to think what is useful in our classes, it is necessary to make an effort to change and improve, to be current with modern teaching practices. This update of knowledge has to be our goal, because times, students, students interests and needs are changing constantly. We are learners, and probably the most important learners because we are students' models, so we have to take advantage of technology to complement our relation with those changes.
