         <description><![CDATA[<div>-in 1918 is when the ww1 introduces new hazardous weapons which lead to more injuries<br>-one hazard was poisonous gas which not also killed many more soldiers but also left the smell of decaying bodies.<br>-a term called trench foot is caused by standing in cold wet trenches for long periods of time without changing into dry socks or boots.<br>-another trench term is trench mouth is a nasty deadly disease in your gums.<br>-dysentery was caused by the soldiers surroundings such as filth,rats,lice, and polluted water<br>-a hazardous effect thats nit physical is called shell shocked and thats the mental state of a soldier when they are about to mentally collapse.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- The U.S. entered the war in 1917.<br>- York killed 25 German men, with the help of others abducted 132 prisoners and was only armed with a rife and a revolver. <br>- November, 1918 Austria-Hungary surrendered to the Allies.<br>- The Germans were too tired to continue fighting so in 1918, Germany agreed to cease-fire which ended the war.<br>- 22 million people died, more than half of them were civilians, 20 million people were injured, and 10 million more people became refugees. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Selective Service Act:<br>-Government need more fighting power<br>-Required men to register with government in order to be randomly selected for military service<br>-24 million people were registered<br>--&gt; 3 million people were called up<br><br>Mass Production:<br>-transport men, food, and equipment over thousands of miles of ocean<br>-US government took 4 crucial steps:<br>1) The shipyard workers were not part of the draft. In order to built ships.<br>2) US Chamber of commerce joined in public relations campaign<br>3) Parts of the ships were preassembled in other locations to save time. And then brought to one location to be assemble them.<br>4) took over commercial and private ships to convert them for transatlantic war use.<br><br></div>]]></description>

It was establish on 1917, in France under the leadership of General John J. Pershing.<br>2. The Doughboys was an informal term for a member of the United State Army, Especially used to refer to members of the American Expeditionary Force.<br>3. A Conscientious Objector was an individual who did not fight in World War 1.<br>4. Alvin York receive the Medal of Honer for leading an attack on the Germans machine gun nest, taking 35 machine guns, killed at least 25 enemy soldiers, and captured 132.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

(600 rounds per minute) pg.#384<br>- Airplanes: Some airplanes contained front-mounded machine guns and dropped bombs. pg.#384<br>- Poisonous Gas/ Gas masks: Poison gas was released which suffocated, burned, and even blinded soldiers.
