I just learnt something new today. I learnt that Singapore had relations with China before 1819. How did I know that, there were Chinese coins found at the "Forbiden Hill"- Fort Caning Hill now. They were used from the 10th-13th century. They were used as a form of payment in the past. There were also stem-cups found there! They were used from 1271-1368. They were produced in China during the Yuan Dynasty. I also learnt that Singapore had relations with India before 1819. There was a Javanese-style statue found at Empress Palace. It was from the 14th-15th century. There was also a gold armlet found at the Fort Canning Hill. The armlet can be found in the Javanese art , Balinese art and the temple. This is the best one, Singapore had a Singapore Stone! There were 50 lines of undecipherable inscriptions and many believed that it holds secrets to Singapore's ancient history! How I wish one day I would be able to see it for real! It was found at the Singapore River and it was from the 10th-13th century. That's all for now. Hope that I will find more interesting discoveries on Singapore before 1819!
