         <title>Vietnam: International Scientific Conference on Climate Change and Health and the 6th Asia-pacific Green Healthcare System Conference (Hai Phong, Oct 30th to Nov 1st)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Vietnam: International Scientific Conference on Climate Change and Health and the 6th Asia-pacific Green Healthcare System Conference </strong>from Oct 30th to Nov 1st, 2024, recently convened 370 delegates from 24 countries in Hai Phong, Vietnam. Hosted by Vietnam’s Ministry of Health and organized by UNICEF, UNDP, Health Care Without Harm, and several key partners, the conference emphasized the urgent need for climate-resilient healthcare across Asia-Pacific.</p><p> </p><p>Under the theme "Transforming Asian Healthcare Systems for a Sustainable, Low-Carbon, and Climate-Adaptive Future," UNICEF collaborate with Vietnam's Health Environment Management Agency (VIHEMA), led two parallel sessions on Exploring Adaptation Strategies for Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Nutrition, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene; and Healthy Environments for Children.          <title>Solarization Training Workshop in the field of Water Supply, Sanitation and Schools (Can Tho, November 4th - 8th)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>UNICEF EAPRO, in collaboration with Water Mission, Global Water Center, and INENSUS, has developed the <strong>“Solarization Training Workshop in the field of Water Supply, Sanitation and Schools” </strong>Held from October 5th to 8th in Can Tho, Vietnam, the workshop brought together participants from central and local government agencies, including representatives from Ca Mau, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Can Tho who involved in water, sanitation, environmental, and educational sectors.</p><p>The "Solarization Training Workshop" aimed to equip participants with critical knowledge and skills to implement solar-powered water systems (SPWS) and solarization of buildings in rural areas of Vietnam. The training also included interactive sessions where participants assessed the current state of SPWS, provided recommendations for improvements to existing systems, and explored both technical and non-technical aspects of solarization implementation. This hands-on approach was designed to foster a deeper understanding of solarization's potential to address water and sanitation challenges in rural Vietnam.</p><p>Participants were encouraged to collaborate, share insights, and develop actionable plans for integrating solarization into their respective communities, ensuring a more sustainable and resilient future for water and sanitation infrastructure.</p><p>This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to promote renewable energy solutions, enhance infrastructure, and improve public health outcomes in rural Vietnam.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>On November 15th, UNICEF Vietnam and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, co-host a National Conference on Rural Clean Water in Hanoi, co-chaired by Ms. Silvia Danailov – representative of UNICEF and Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep – Vice Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.</p><p>This pivotal event will convene nearly 300 participants, representatives from national agencies, international organizations, private sectors, local authorities from across all provinces. The conference aims to address Vietnam’s water challenges and define solutions to accelerate climate resilient water access for rural communities, particularly in remotes areas. Key actions for Viet Nam include increasing climate finance, scaling up climate resilient technology, institutionalization and community empowerment.
