Hi, I am Kenichi Robles from B200. I'm an aspiring game programmer and designer, naturally one of the pop cultures I like are video games, which Filipinos are getting more involved to. I also like music, teleseryes, digital art and animation. All of those are also getting Filipinos involved on, except music and teleseryes. Those ones have always been the country's forte.

Let's talk animation. I've been recently seeing a lot more animation work coming from Filipinos recently. There's been studios popping out working on huge and dedicated projects. It's so cool knowing each year, the field of animation here in the Philippines keeps growing and, seeing posts in Facebook, of all places, is so cool to see.

I've delved into animation ever since I was a little kid. I got into it not even just because of awesome Disney or Dreamworks or etc. movies, but also because of small creators on YouTube that really inspired me to get into the medium. The art of animation was just so fascinating to me, especially at a certain point where I got exposed to online animation.

There's just something about it not seen in most media, even when VFX is put into a live action scene. I adore this medium so much. There's so much work and heart that really needs to be put into it and its nice to see it grow here in the Philippines.

Yall better check "The Lovers" by Studio Heartbreak when it comes out it looks fire.

Animation and Carnival Theory

Animation is film, it's not its own genre. This in turn, it has characteristics of Carnival Theory that also applies to film.

This medium can often take reality on steroids, meaning not only is satire and parody an option, but also the ultra-idealized caricatures, nuanced characters, subversive characters or etc. are bound to be expressed within this medium.
