Good afternoon everyone, my name is Yelyzaveta, I am from Kremenchuk, which is located in the centre of Ukraine. My bachelor major is Combined Art Studies at the Faculty of Arts of the Masaryk University. I am currently in my sixth semester, therefore I am working on my diploma thesis. My interests are connected with my studying programme, I enjoy theatre and films, furthermore, I played in theatre and took part in making student films as a director, screenwriter and editor. Also I am interested in theory of comedy, video art and art of the twentieth century.

I decided to use that picture created by American painter Keith Haring because it symbolizes my passion towards the aforementioned period of the art history. Moreover, I adrmire the aesthetics of Haring's art.

Hi everyone, my name is Verča Dordová and I study French. It’s my first year at uni. I’m interested in France and french culture generally. I’d like to try to live there (or in other Francophone country) for some time after my studies, but this summer I want to find a summer job and go there alone. I love sport, it helps with psyche. What I think that changed me a lot, was when I became vegan. With this I gained a lot. I started to perceive the world differently, mainly the real sides of people. I love everything what is connected with nature and self-growth.

Hello, everybody! My name is Samuel Bacigál and I come from a town in western Slovakia, Trnava. Currently, I am studying film theory and history.

I am generally interested in art and culture, I like walking inside galleries and/or museums and love going to the cinema.

I enjoy animated films, thrillers, or detective films and I am especially fond of Asian cinema (South Korean or Japanese f.e.).

I would like to visit these countries someday. I also love food and cooking, my favorite cuisine is probably Italian. I can't go a week without a

good bowl of pasta !

I chose a behind-the-scenes picture of Japanese actor Haruo Nakajima, who played the role of the monster Godzilla in several movies, enjoying a cigarette after shooting.

I chose this picture because even though I love watching films and looking at art I also really like to just relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee in between.

Hi everyone :) My name is Lucy Lančíková and I study general linguistics at the Faculty of Arts. I am from the Brno itself. I always loved languages and how they were created thus why I chose linguistics. Now I am in my fourth semester. The languages that I am studying are mainly Latin and Japanese, but I also have Finnish and Korean. Before I started studying at Masaryk University I studied photography, which is still my big hobby. I love to photograph sports and animals. I grew up around horses and got one myself, so I chose this picture of a horse speaking to a microphone.

Hello everyone! My name is Veronika. I study the theory and history of film and audiovisual culture. After finishing my studies, I would like to work in animation or film editing. I still don't know what exactly, but I would like to have a job that allows me to do a slightly different activity every day so it's not too routine. My interests include reading, cooking and especially travelling. I like to travel with friends, but even better alone, because that's how you learn about yourself the most.

Hello everyone and have a nice day. My name is Lukáš, I come from the village of Rouchovany, which is located near the Dukovany nuclear power plant. My bachelor's studies are in Aesthetics at Masaryk University. I am in my fourth semester of study and my passion for my studies is probably still the same as when I started - teach me to live with admiration. So my academic interest is mostly focused on proper construction of essays/criticisms, and the best possible formulation of an idea. As for my extracurricular hobbies, unfortunately it's never the same. I enjoy trying new things and figuring out whether or not it would even be for me. At the moment, it's bass guitar.

I chose this photo because I can relate to the character: despite all the laughter and beauty in your eyes, you're still just a little being with a lot of problems and sadness.

Hi everyone, my name is Adriana and i study Italian language and literature, this is my 4th semester. I decided to post this picture, that i took when i was in Morocco with my friends on a surf trip. Surfing is currently one of my biggest hobbies and each time i go on a vacation i try to go somewhere where it's possible to surf so i can touch the ocean again. When i look at this picture it reminds me of the feeling i've felt when we were sitting at this spot with my friends watching the other surfers, it was one of the best days ever! In my free time i like to do yoga, i enjoy cooking and reading. I don't really have a plan after finishing uni, but i believe i will find out soon.

Hello everyone, my name is Saša Martinů and I study Theatre Studies at the Faculty of Arts. I come from a small town located on the south of Czechia, on the border of Bohemia and Moravia. I chose this picture because it is the illustration from the latest czech translation of Hamlet, which depicts a character of Ophelia as a strong but also very fragile woman and I can relate to her. One of my big hobbies is reading, which connects a lot with my major. I'm particulary interested in Scandinavian drama. Apart from my academy interests i also enjoy visual art, mostly paintings of any art style or time period.

Hello everyone, my name is Kristína and I’m from Bratislava. My bachelor studies are Combined Art studies at the Faculty of Arts. I have been very passionate about all kinds of art since very young age. I myself was part of a drama club for more than 5 years back home, but unfortunately, I don’t have time to go back and forth between Brno and Bratislava to take drama classes anymore. I miss performing with my beloved theatre friends. As for my photo, I chose one of the stage that I took right before my last performance. The play was based on Wedekind's book Spring Awakening. Sometimes I find myself wondering what would my life be like if I never left. As you can see I am a nostalgic person but studying abroad keeps me moving and looking forward. I also enjoy traveling and learning new languages, currently, I’m trying to improve my language skills in Spanish. I am planning on studying in Spain next semester so we will see how that goes.

Hi, my name is Anna Ptáčníková and I'm from Ostrava. I am in my fourth semester of studying Czech Language and Literature + Art History. So far, I am interested in feminist literary theories, ecocriticism and the way art and literature influence society and back.

About my hobbies - I love reading, photography, dancing (mostly ballet), and vintage-clothes-hunting. Brno is perfect for that, as there are many vintage clothes stores.

I grew up reading Tove Jansson stories about Moomins and as I got older, I grow to appreciate them even more. I think that life would be better if people just chilled and read/watched Moomins more :))

Hey everyone :) My name is Sára and I'm from Bratislava. I'm studying Combined Art Studies at The Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University. Currently I'm in my second semester of the first year of my bachelor studies. My biggest academic interest is film history, and I aspire to pursue a career in this area. That's why I have also taken several non-mandatory courses from this field. In general, I appreciate all forms of art. I was raised in an artistic family, which influenced me from a young age. Apart from my studies, I enjoy watching films (obviously), reading (especially non-fiction travel reports), travelling and getting to know new cultures, and spending time outdoors connecting with nature. One of my other interests is frequently trying out new hobbies, although this may not be very consistent.

As a lover of nature, I chose this painting by South Korean artist Ken Gun Min because it beautifully depicts the dynamics and unbridled nature. This can be seen as a beautiful allegory for life.
