Fold each strip in half midway along its length, unfold it again and draw a heavy felt-pen line along the crease.
Repeat this progress on several strips of paper  marking each with a different coloured ink.
Place an end of each strip in a bowl of water (You may have to rise the bowl slightly to help the water soak down the paper.)
Before the water seeps through the strips, guess what's going to happen to the colours in the ink.
