1. What are the manifestations of society’s tendency to overproduce and overconsume?

The society’s manifestation to overproduce and overconsume is the differences in qualifications and demands of each state about meeting the needs/wants of the population.

2. Should middle- and high-income countries regulate their growth and consumption? Why or why not?

Yes, because if growth and consumption will not be regulated, these two can cause over consumption of our natural resources, and which would result to unsustainable society and catastrophes like climate change, scarcity and shortage.

3. How have we been enframed by the notion of growth?

How we contribute to the growth of our economy and how we measure our level of living has shaped our understanding of growth. We are all awestruck by the fact that science has enabled advancements.

4. How do we improve our lives and yet reduce consumption?

We will be able to better our lives while reducing consumption by being able to assess our requirements and not spending so much on our wants, and by identifying needs that would last a long time in our hands; purchasing high-quality products would also be beneficial when reducing consumption.

5. What are the difference between the traditional development framework with the De-development framework of progress?

The de-development framework is about purposely stopping growth for the sake of improving the state of living of developing countries. On the other hand, traditional ways of development keep the idea of growth without actually having solutions to the problems regarding poverty and lack of resources to consume in other countries

6. Why must we change our paradigm of growth and consumption to that of “de-development”?

Poor countries find it difficult to keep up with the rich countries so Instead of the poor countries to catch up with the fully developed ones. We should think of ways for the rich countries to catch down with the poor countries to make more appropriate levels of development. We should look at societies where people live long and happy lives at relatively low levels of income and consumption.

7. Why are the terms de-development, de-growth, and zero growth seemingly unacceptable to the usual framework of human progress?

De-development, de-growth, and zero growth seemingly unacceptable because it only means to stop overconsumption and start limiting the use of resources in nature and water to avoid scarcity of resources in our planet. This kind of framework requires a high level of development and continuous high level of progress which is the opposite of the terms "de-development", and "de-growth" since there terms refer to catching down with the development of rich countries instead of the poor countries to catch up with the rich ones.

8. Which do you prefer the traditional development or “de-development” progress framework?

Catch up

9. Is de-development applicable or being observed during this global pandemic? Give reasons or examples?

Yes, De-development is applicable and observed during this global pandemic, as an example high income countries (Developed Countries) lend money or investments to low income countries (Developing/ Under Developed Countries) experiencing financial difficulties during this global pandemic as these countries urgently need support from the international community.

10. What do you think are the benefits of the global pandemic with regard to development/progress?

Development and Innovation benefited Global Pandemic interms of eradicating the COVID- 19 diseases specifically by helping many countries to have international collaboration with its scientist to develop vaccines that are made fully accesible to everyone.
