Brainstorm. Think about your identity. Write down five words you think best describe yourself.

Mix it up. Ask a partner to pick three of the words and change them to the opposite meaning. For example, if you wrote “shy,” your partner would change the word to “outgoing."

Imagine. Using your list of five words, construct an alter ego for yourself. Consider the following questions: What is this character’s name? Where is this person from? What does he or she like to do?

Modeling Factors: Separating Light & Shadow

_{1) Draw a cube Draw the basic form of a cube in perspective.
2) Indicate the light source- Draw an arrow to indicate the light source coming from the upper left.}^{3) Place the cast shadow- The cast shadow is determined by the direction and angle of the light source in relation to the object. Draw the outline of the cast shadow.}

^{4) Separate the light and shadow- Determine where the terminator is (on a cube it will be located along an edge).
5) Add value to both the form and cast shadow- Lay in an even value for the shadow side.}^{Repeat this process for a cylinder, cone, and sphere each with the light source in a different location.}
