The song that developed my idea of truth is Ella Mai's song "Trip"

The song is about how everyone tends to blame others for hurting them or doing them wrong. But, we have to realize that sometimes we don't admit that we're wrong too. She wrote this song to show people when to apologize in certain situations and knowing when to admit you're wrong. This song connects to me because we all go through situations where we always think were right. After listening to the song I have come to realize that it's okay to be wrong, we shouldn't blame others for our mistakes. I need to accept what I've done and not bring others down. It helps express the truth in my life because not being able to own up for mistakes would make me a liar. I have to be honest about my thoughts and actions, hopefully influencing others to do the same.

The most important piece of literature iv'e read is William Shakespeare's tragedy, Macbeth

The play is about Scottish general Macbeth whose own ambition led to his downfall from a sturdy well rounded man to a murderous selfish person. He didn't care who he hurt as long as he received benefit from it, his only goal was to become King. His political ambition led to his own decadence. Macbeth could have been a good person but instead wanted to be the bad guy. This book helped me have better understanding of myself and human nature. Individuals can be corrupted by their own aspirations which is something one has to be aware of in life. I believe people are capable of controlling their own decisions, its not fate, its free will. You should know what you do and how it will affect yourself and others.

Michelangelo Buonarroti's sculpture The David is a work of art that helped me the concept of overcoming obstacles

From 1501-1504, the exquisite piece of art made of one single piece of pure marble, The David was created. This sculpture is a representation of David during his confrontation with Goliath. The reason why this sculpture intrigued me is because in the story of David and Goliath,David is described as a small ordinary boy while Goliath is described as a large giant. But in Michelangelo’s sculpture, he portrays David as a large man who faces one of his biggest challenges yet. Michelangelo doesn’t portray David as a weak boy but instead a strong man. I believe that we often turn away from difficulties in life instead of turning towards it. People are masters of avoidance, but if we want to learn to overcome obstacles in life, we have to face reality and be the big man. You have to feel capable of accomplishing something even when you have a low chance.David was met with what most would say an impossible task but he believed in himself and stuck to his own intuition. Sticking to your potential can lead to success, it will make you embrace life, despite what others say to bring you down.

A TV show that further expanded my understanding of family is the CW's: The Vampire Diaries

Its a show about two brothers, Stefan and Damon, who face a series of challenges about love, evil, sacrifice, friendship, and brotherly bond. Stefan was known as the humble good looking brother full of love and loyalty, while Damon on the other hand was known as the dark brother who didn’t care about anyone, not altruistic at all. Although the two brothers didn't really get along most of the time, the ending showed me that brotherly love is stronger than any kind of love their is. I believe that love for your family is something you can't deny, it runs inside of you and you should never give up on them even if they become a challenge. Stefan sacrificed his life for Damon, despite leaving his wife behind, so that his brother can achieve peace with his all time love Elena. I believe family are those who accept you no matter who you are, where there's no hatred or judgment. The love of a family should be unconditional, and everyone should try their best to provide all they can for them.
