Grade Level: Kindergarten
I was aware of the computer science standards for Kindergarten and implement several of them into my classroom on a daily/weekly basis. My class also receives computer instruction from our school technology teacher once a week where many of these standards and skills are taught and utilized.
Standard K-2.CD.1
Use standard input and output devices to operate computers and other technologies.
Example: Utilizing the game Fuzz Bugs, teaches Kindergarten students the relationship between the mouse and the computer screen. This digital lesson focuses on the skill of drag and drop. It also integrates several Kindergarten math standards such as sorting, counting, patterning and graphing.

Grade Level: Kindergarten
Subject: Math
Standards: K-2DI.1, K.NS.4, K.NS.5
Digital Lesson: IXL is an online differentiated math program that allows students to work independently to complete a series of math standards. This practice forces students to master specific skill sets and tracks individual progress. I currently use IXL as an independent math center during Guided Math three days a week. Students may also access IXL from home for E-Learning or additional practice. The standards above are listed to fulfill a lesson on counting objects. After this standard has been introduced and taught in the classroom, students utilize IXL for additional practice and enrichment.

This is amazing how easily Kindergartners and teachers with limited technology skills could find and access their favorite apps and web links to classroom digital media.

Grade Level: Kindergarten
Social Media: Twitter

@INeLearn Provides educators in Indiana an opportunity to share ideas and connect anytime through the use of mobile devices. Teachers are able to post ideas and digital media as well as gain new ideas.
I currently do not have a Twitter account, mainly because of the lack of time to stay connected. After exploring their website, I do see the benefits of collaborating and sharing ideas and resources with fellow educators. This opportunity could help improve instruction by introducing best practices that I may not currently utilize.

Grade Level: Kindergarten
Tool: Raz-Kids

Raz-Kids (Reading A-Z) is a digital literacy component that offers students individualized leveled reading books and literacy activities. I currently utilize this resource for E-Learning and within the classroom during our Guided Reading Centers. Students are also able to access this wonderful resource from home for additional enrichment. I am able to set each students reading level so they are able to independently select and read books at their instructional reading level. I am able to print reports to track student progress and determine when they need to level up. This tool helps to effectively integrate technology and offers a wide range of fiction and non fiction texts at the touch of a finger. Students earn points for each compete read and build their own personal robot avatar. I highly recommend this user-friendly resource!
