Vision: Chronic absenteeism rates have been climbing since before the COVID Pandemic in the Greenfield Public School district. Greenfield Public Schools have identified the need to reduce absenteeism and has been working with students and families to educate and assist in any challenges they are facing that affect school attendance. Greenfield Public Schools goal is to decrease chronic absenteeism by 5% by the end of the 2023/2024 school year.

Vision: To affect change for the health and wellbeing of our student populations, through mindful and inclusive means.

Health Area Focus: I intend to focus on preparing Individualized Health Care Plans for as many of our students as I can. My first step that I hope to complete by our holiday break in December is identifying all of the students that need one and reviewing the ones that already exist. My goal is to have more than 75% of them completed before the end of this school year, effectively exceeding the grant goals.

Vision: GCVS continues to be a safe place for students with potentially life threatening allergies. At the end of the 2022-23 school year, we had twenty-three students with diagnosed allergies corresponding with a prescription for epinephrine (Epipen) to be used for anaphylaxis. At the beginning of this school year, there are fifty-seven students with such allergies and Epipen prescriptions. I am the known expert within the school, and have worked hard to gain the trust of families and faculty to communicate with me when a student could be at risk. I also have the support of our school physician and carry stock Epipens in the event further emergency care is required. Since GCVS' students are located throughout Massachusetts, I am unable to be in every location for in person events. Our families receive my telehealth consultation with the aim of ensuring current access to their Epipen and providing reassurance of our abilities to provide care if needed. I am collaborating with our administration, family engagement and site coordination to make sure staff are aware of the potential risks and educated on the importance of preventative strategies. By May 17, 2024, all of the families with students known to have allergies at risk for anaphylaxis will reflect on changes in their perception of their children's autonomy, and ninety percent will indicate a reduction of fear around their child's ability to safely attend the required GCVS in person events.
