Ptolemy was a Roman scientist that lived in Egypt who spent many years mapping stars and motion of the planets and created rules explaining how they moved, but he incorrectly said earth was at the center of the universe, People in Europe dismissed this idea because being at the center of the universe means you are closer to, excuse me, Hell.

The U.S. law system borrows heavily from the Roman law system. The Roman's first code of law was the twelve tables. But laws were not written down at this time, as a result, many people demanded the laws to writen down as many believed the patricians were breaking the law. The patricians reluctntly agreed and the laws were carved in bronze for everyone to see in Rome's marketplace. The Twelve Tables became the basis for all Roman laws. They said all free citizens mut be treated equally.

The Romans built systems of roads and bridges to connect the empire. Roman engineers built roads from Rome to the empire. The roads were built so well some have managed to survive to this very day. The Roman's also built arches, aqueducts, monuments, rodes, and bridges. The arches that the Roman's made were to support aqeducts, bridges, and buildings. Rows of these arches were built against one another to create vaults to create curved cellings.
