This activity is great to show children that just because two people or animals or objects are different on the outside doesn't mean that they are different on the inside.

This NAEYC recourse is a good website to visit for tips on engaging Multilingual Children in Conversation. "Discussions between educators and children have been shown to facilitate language learning by providing children with models for use of language and responsive communication" (Five Tips for Engaging Multilingual Children in Conversation | NAEYC, n.d.)
This resource meets the topic because the tips stay true to developing interactions with empathy for people who speak  different language. I have learned that "Children who learn multiple languages learn to be sensitive to their conversation partners; they make word and language choices based on their knowledge of others." (Virtual Lab School, 2021.)

The YouTube channel "Jason I am" is a great resource to help families or children understand disabilities. This specific video is about teaching the audience that special needs children are children who just need a little extra support. "Special needs children are special indeed, and most of them are more intelligent than average children." (Children with Special Needs, n.d.) This video meets the topic for understanding disabilities because the video is clear with explaining what a disability is.

The activity is to read out loud a list such as, Burping and Farting, Rescuing, Dancing, Teacher, Cooking, Pink, Doctor, Nurse, Cars, A six pack, Diet drinks ect. and for each thing you say have the class hold up a girl sign or a boy sign. Once you have read through the list ask the questions of, is it true that these are just girls or boy's things? and ask where are these answers coming from?
This activity will show the students that girls and boys can like anything or do anything no matter what gender they are.
