Greetings from the Salento and a very Happy Teacher's Day to us all! I am an Italian 62 year old lady who was brought up in the green farming valleys of South Wales and I now live on the sunny heel of southern Italy, surrounded by olive trees. I teach in a secondary school IISS Cezzi de Castro Moro in Maglie in the province of Lecce. I have a long experience as a teacher and firmly believe teaching is a vocation and a very rewaring experience inspite of all the difficulties and drawbacks which we have to face day after day.

To make a long story short I will tell you about my most recent "best experience". Encouraged by my technological colleague and friend Maria Angela Bleve I have just completed a session of tests in six classe where students carried out their multiple choice test of 40 questions on their mobiles! For me an incredible experience, my students were delighted, they said they felt at ease working on their mobile .... it is never too late to learn! I wonder who is learning more, me or my students?

What I find most rewarding and also the most difficult in my job as a teacher is that I have the chance to do more than transmit information and help develop abilities and skills.I feel that by my actions, my views, by the connections Icreate with my students, I can contribute to the creation of their inner universe. To what extent i can influence this process is of little importance as being given this opportunity is a blessing in itself.
