A named birth partner is welcome to stay overnight on Edith Dare Ward to provide emotional and practical support, for both eth birthing person and baby. You will not be permitted to leave the ward between 10pm and 7am. We ask that you do not wander around the ward as not everyone will have a partner to stay and may find strangers walking around the ward uncomfortable or threatening. A second named birth partner and siblings from the same family can visit the ward between 4pm and 7pm daily.

While visiting our postnatal ward, we encourage you to consider others, be understanding and offer support whenever you can. There may be times when we need to ask visitors to leave if the ward becomes overcrowded.

We may request that birth partners and support people limit the number of times they leave and re-enter the area to protect vulnerable patients.
