"The Inspiration for my project was my childhood and growth, and how staying connected to those roots helped me to mature into an "adult". I chose to use a wide variety of creative outlets such as my musical creations, as well as my love of animation and transformers to make a little personal story of my transformers history. "The overall theme of this project is change, and how that can be productive. Not knowing what you want to do or where you’re going is okay, and knowing that you may change your mind, and that it’s okay to change your mind, is productive. The goal of my website is to show that even though I am a cybersecurity student, I still have other interests and passions that I want to explore. Although I like cybersecurity, I am not restricted or confined to it by any means. Life is about exploration. "Over the past year Aspire has helped me reflect on my values. I believe that with our current societal culture in the United States and at Drexel it is common to have an on-the-go mentality. It has been helpful to look at why I chose my field of study and look at how it aligns with my interests. "For my Aspire Final Project, I chose to create a painting on canvas in relation to the themes of commitment and challenge. I wanted to try something out of my comfort zone; as art has never been one of my strong suits. In the image, I displayed myself crossing a finish line followed by characters that represent some of the things that cause me anxiety daily. This shows perseverance to overcoming those anxieties, and conquering goals despite everyday obstacles. Aspire has allowed me with the space to dive deeper into my own thought process and become a better critical thinker. Anxieties that once seemed large are smaller now, given the improved ability to reason and reflect." - Emily
