I checked out Conker which is powered by AI. You can create quizzes aligned to standards, make accommodations for students, hit learning targets and you get 5 quizzes for free. I delete and reuse them so I don't have to pay.

This worked well with a quick entrance ticket in the door to see if my 9th graders read the story. You can use it in multiple ways though & its easy to set up.

By incorporating robots into instruction for students with autism, we can help to develop their SEL. Robots respond in predictable ways which help autistic students to feel less anxiety. Robots are also less threatening and infinitely patient. This is a piece of technology that might help our autistic population learn better socialization techniques.

As a seasoned educator, I must admit that my initial encounters with artificial intelligence left me feeling somewhat uneasy. The idea of relying on technology to enhance my teaching methods seemed foreign, and I couldn't help but wonder if it would ever truly understand the nuances of the classroom. However, my skepticism began to wane as I delved into the world of Eduaide.ai.

Eduaide.ai, an innovative educational AI platform, has proven to be a game-changer for me and many of my colleagues. Initially leery of the integration of AI into my teaching routine, I now find myself wholeheartedly embracing the countless benefits it brings to the modern classroom.

One of the most significant advantages of Eduaide.ai is its ability to personalize learning experiences. The programs within allow you to design scaffolded questions, articles based on grade level or lexicon, design in-depth hands on group activities, gamification, and authentic project based learning. Eduaide.ai's adaptive algorithms analyze individual student performance, tailoring lessons to meet their specific needs. This level of customization ensures that no student is left behind, and each one can progress at their own pace, fostering a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Eduaide.ai doesn't replace the teacher; it amplifies their capabilities. While I do use Eduaide to quickly design a lesson or passage, I still naturally review all of the content it produces for accuracy and tailoring. Nearly everything the program designs does need your own customization, it is surprisingly accurate at the task. Although it has recently changed from entirely free to free trial, I am still firmly campaigning for my continued use, and will likely purchase a years subscription.

Flexibility is key when working with different timelines. When planning december I determined door swags would be made directly before break. Our trees had to be cut for safety purposes so we regrouped and I taught the students to make door swags. Flexibility is also key with helping and guiding students with different creative views on their swags! Fun activities in the Hort Lab!

My 9-year old daughter told me how much she loves Blooket so I thought I’d look into using it with my classes. As I’d thought, it does seem a little more elementary than the quizizz that I currently use but I do think that even high school students will enjoy the gamification aspects of it. I’ll probably give it a try with one of my smaller classes and get their feedback before fully incorporating into my toolbox. I learned you can either use one that’s in the community or make your own so I played a business one that was already made and enjoyed it so I hope my students will too. I do need to dig a little further as there is feedback that you can get in report form to assess but I did not dig that deeply just yet.

Here’s a micro-lesson that I use with creating charts in Excel. I talk very fast in the lesson but I remind my students, with most video viewers, they can adjust the playback rate to slow it down or pause it as needed. The steps are provided in written form and I walk them through it in video form.

To keep my science students engaged on a new, heavier topic, instead of having them define vocabulary as we moved through the lesson, I would point out a new term and have them see who could define it on their white board first. They loved this and were very engaged!!!

This past week & this week my English 9 students have struggled so yesterday I showed them the curriculum we need to cover between now & Christmas break. I asked them for their input to tell me what they wanted to do. Students came up with their own bell ringers, assessments, activities and planned out this week. This engaged students & gave them ownership of their learning. As a teacher sometimes we need to let go of the reigns and let our students responsibly take charge of the class.

My students typically use their devices so today I had them use notecards and markers. They had to create a flash card of something they learned in class yesterday, with the question on one side and the answer on the other. They then moved throughout the room questioning each other using their flash cards. I was able to formatively assess prior learning using common questions used on the cards and also their ability to answer the questions asked. They also enjoyed the change of pace without using devices.

In today’s law class we played Jeopardy and while there were a few hiccups getting started the students were very receptive to the activity. Next time I need to be sure my white boards and markers are ready to eliminate the early downtime during setup. When I asked, the students supported doing the activity again in future classes.

This time of year especially students can struggle to turn in late work. This article shows how students can have ownership & validates that life happens by giving them a life happens waiver where they can turn in 1 assignment late without penalty. I read, “Keeping Older Students Engaged All Year Long” by Anne Beaton. It talked about how keeping students engaged is more about building a sense of community and less about engaging activities. I really liked the article and the points that were shared. I like the idea of building rapport by getting to know students and building a sense of community and how they belong to the community. The article also suggested building on strengths, being supportive of the other community members.

I also take 10-20 minutes each day with my work bestie in the AM to chat & have girl time. Throughout the day I stop in on my chaos director & chat with her for advice and empowerment
