MAKES STARBUCKS THE WORLD'S LEADING COFFEE BUSINESS<br>-</strong>in 1996, he decides to markets the Starbucks at outside the United States.<br>-His first coffee store was opened in Japan.<br>-Then, the stores started to appear in Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Sweden and Israel. <br>-By April 2000, there have been more than 2400 Starbucks stores in the United States and 350 stores in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Canada opened. <br>-At the end of 2005, Howard Schultz announced that Starbucks was going to expand its size up to 10,000 coffee shops. The popularity of the company has reached such a high level that the Economist magazine created the Starbucks Index.<br><strong>2. COMPANY'S MOBILE PAYMENT SYSTEM<br>-</strong>He built this system as part of Starbucks loyalty program. At every U.S. company-operated Starbucks store, non-expired perishable food items will be delivered to those who are hungry and have pressing food needs every day.<br><br></div><div>2. He has launched Starbucks’ One Tree for Every Bag program and donating an estimated 20 million rust-resistant coffee trees to farmers.<br><br></div><div>3. He launched a program called College Achievement Plan. This program gives a 100% tuition-free opportunity for employees to get a bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University and it has more than 5,000 partners enrolled.<br><br></div><div>4. As part of nonprofit Democracy Works’ larger goal of 80% voter participation in the 2020 election, Starbucks will be joining the TurboVote Challenge in a technology-supported attempt to make it easier for employees to vote.<br><br></div><div>5. Creating the 100,000 Opportunities Initiative whereby Starbucks has created opportunity youth hiring goal. This program aims to bridge the opportunity divide for the 4.9 million Americans, aged 16 to 24 who are out of school and not working.
